I'm making a simple dinner for my mother tonight, and I'm wondering what goes well with chicken. Nothing too fancy, though because I don't have a whole lot of time or special ingredients. Thanks!

I just recently moved here in Canada, and i have no idea what to eat.
Everytime i go to restaurants, it's always a 'fancy food'.
What i want to know is what ordinary CAnadians eat in an ordinary day. (BReakfast, lunch, dinner, etc)
I would probably want the ones which are easy to prepare.
Thanks

Just found out our local shopping Mall is opening a third Starbucks (one in the Borders, one in the food court and one near a major dept. store). Seems kind of ridiculous.

Mine was so good! It was tender and lean, tasted so good. I dipped a few bites in dijon mustard. I shredded my cabbage and steamed it until it was bright green. I boiled my potatoes separately and served them with a bit of butter. Every one had seconds and I still had enough left over to make corned beef hash!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

It was lovely, and it separated into what I remember was almost three layers. She would chill it in a gelatin mold. I checked a few recipes online, but they seemed to fall short of what I remember.

I have noticed over the past few years that when I boil eggs they tend to make a chirping noise. I am fully aware that store bought eggs are unfertilized and no living entity is within the shell. But it is darn eerie. From asking around it seems that half the people I've talked to have experienced this unsettling phenomenon while the other half are in awe by the very concept. The chirping doesn't always occur and when it does it is not partial to the kind of pot I am using. It has happened to me while boiling two eggs or a dozen (I've never bothered to hard boil just one egg.) Also age doesn't seem to be a factor. Farm fresh eggs seem to chirp just as often as eggs that are fast approaching their expiration date. So does anyone know why eggs sometimes chirp when they are boiled.

For a school project I have to make a dish that has originated or is a regular part of the diet in Honduras, of Central America. I'd rather it be easier to make & I would prefer it's meatless but it doesn't have to be. Thank you.

I've seen this before on coffee drinks at starbucks, and even in the name of a certain flavor of yoplait yogurt. What does it mean???? I'm taking french, and everytime I see the word, 'de', french word meaning 'of', always proceeds or preceeds it, so I assume it's french.

I also have some half-and-half, but I haven't found that it works that well in sauce recipes. I also have the usual assortment of kitchen staples, but I cannot go to the store for anything else. What am I going to make for dinner?? Please help--I'd be so grateful.
