Food & Drink - 19 January 2007

I am planning on opening a bar and I am not sure if I sould start with just the basics (alcohol) and then add a "grill" after the bar is off and running or if I should start with a Bar and Grill! Me and my business partner are not seeing eye to eye on this one. If anyone has any advise that would be great. I would like to hear about some pros and cons of both thanks!

As a child, my brother and I loved to eat creamy PB from this crazy set of pink and orange plastic ice cream cones. The mushroom top was preforated and when you twisted the top & cone, the peanut butter oozed out of the top like chai pet hair. I know, it sounds gross, but to a 4 & 6 year old it was the coolest! It would make a great birthday gift for my brother if i could find one. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!

I followed this recipe step by step :
1 whole fryer, cut into 8 pieces
Essence, recipe follows
2 cups plus 2 tablespoons buttermilk
Vegetable oil for frying
2 1/2 cups flour
2 eggs, beaten
Salt and pepper

I fried the chicken but then for some of them the top cover just slipped off. I mean it was a real mess. I just wasted the whole chicke. Some of them were burnt from outside but the chicken wasn't cooked from the inside. How do I make sure that the chicken is thoroughly and fully cooked from the inside without burning it ? Please help me !!

last weekend the beer was left outside and all froze except corona. does anyone have an idea why? that night it must have been at least -10 celcius.

and i have seen how to freeze corona by disturbing it after putting it in the freezer, so i know it can freeze.

i'm wondering why it didn't even though it was disturbed.....

I marinated it in teryaki, brown sugar, soy sauce and ginger last time, now i wanna try something new, preferably southwest style. Maybe a peppercorn marinade? No A-1's or just pepper and salt ideas pls. I want something interesting and tasty. Nothing too spicy though, i have a sensitive stomach. I heard chaka's sauce is good.

I have to pack a lunch for a field trip that I'm supervising. I won't have access to a fridge or microwave. Unfortunately I don't own a thermos because I've never needed on before today! Ok. I know this may be a stupid question, but I'm gonna ask it anyway.

1) Why does caffeine make one so awake and energetic? I drank a Grande Cinnamon Dolce Latte from Starbucks at about 5:15 this evening, and I am wired.

2) Is there a way to help yourself fall asleep after having caffeine? It is now 10:42 pm and I need to go to sleep soon. I am very tired but very hyper at the same time. =\
