Tap water through a filter.
Just because it's in a bottle doesn't mean that it's better. Some of it actually is tap water.

bottled is too expensive, but tap never tastes quite right. I buy a case of generic bottled water, and keep the empties after drinking the bottled water. Then I refill the bottles with tap water and I put the bottles in the fridge. For some reason, tap water tastes great if it's really really cold.

If those are the choices, bottled water. Our tap water tastes horrible and has a color to it. We use a Pur Water filter, and when we took it off to change it, we found grass particles, and rust particles, pieces of black things, in the screen. Gross. Bottled-definitely.
