I would like to give my brother and his wife some wine for a Christmas gift. They really enjoy red wine. I'm not very knowledgable about good wine. Could someone recommend something really good, perhaps a little unusual. I would like to give them 2 bottles, maybe one on the lighter side, and one a little more robust and bold. My budget would be about $20-25 dollars a bottle. I've already bought them a nice set of the new stemless wine glasses so now I just need some good wine to go with them. I live in Vancouver so there shouldn't be a problem finding anything suggested. Lots of liquor stores and specialty wine shops in my area

I heard somewhere that it is unsafe to microwave food while it's sitting on styrofoam. I'm referring specifially to those dark pink or yellow trays that meat is packed in when you get it from the store. If you defrost the meat while it's sitting on one of those trays, is it true that chemicals in the styrofoam can seep into the meat?

A thick sirloin steak grilled to perfection,sauteed mushrooms with garlic,grilled spring onions,a jacket potato with butter,creme fraiche and bacon bits,and cauliflower cheese. I have to say-it was WONDERFUL!

I am going to have a party, and I've already secured a visit from the Green Fairy, but I want to have some other crazy drinks for people who don't want to try that. I'm not talking about "it's like 1500 proof!" or "It messed me up for a whole week!" kind of drinks, but rather stuff that is either rare/obscure or has some kind of fun thing to it, like setting it on fire or it has to be drunk while upside down...you get the idea. What made you take that first drink or that first puff? Even after you kept hearing about how bad it was for you? When was the first time you got drunk?
