I have had two bottles of unopened white wine in the fridge since June. They are the last of the leftovers from my wedding. Will they be ok to serve or do I need to just buy a couple of new bottles for this weekend?
Thanks!

someone else asked me to ask this...we're actually vegetarian.
so it's provoctive...some vegis expect carnivores to be virtual vampires...how far would you go to satisfy your craving for eating flesh and blood? Would you eat puppy or a kitten or human foetus?

I just got a recipe for potato kugel that I want to make for my family, and I'd rather not use the chicken fat, but I don't want to lose the flavor. If anyone knows something that I could use that would taste just as good, that would be great. Keeping kosher is not an issue for us, and in the recipe the fat (1/3 cup) is just used for greasing the pan, if that helps. Thanks!

I am preparing two boneless, skinless chicken breast for tonight's dinner. However, I do not want a pale, poached-looking piece of meat. I intend to do a quick, high heat browning in a skillet before wrapping them in parchment. Has anyone done this before? My concern is that the chicken may dry out a bit through the browning process and defeat the purpose of parchment baking. I will be baking the breasts at about 425 f. for 10 to 12 minutes and they will be covered lightly (in the parchemnt) with a reduction of white wine, shallots and chicken stock used from the deglazing of the skillet.

My waffle maker broke and I wanted to get a new one for my mom for Christmas. I saw that with this one you can make 2 at one time, which is very convenient. My whole family likes waffles with deep pockets. Is this a good one to buy or are there better ones?

We have a family function coming up with about 30 people (adults and children) and we were asked to bring an appetizer or a dip. Any good suggestions. Something that's maybe kid friendly.

Hello

I enjoy a glass of red but it stains my lips. This is a bit embarrasing as it lasts til the next day. It's hard to get off. I've tried rubbing and brushing. People must think I'm a wine taster. What can I do?
