Most soda (unless marked otherwise) contains caffeine which is what is the addicting quality to soda. caffeine is considered a drug, and below are mosr facts about it.

Caffeine is certainly a drug and it is an addictive drug as well. It is a moderate stimulant that taken in small amounts tends to make us more alert and often raises mood. In large amounts a person can have insomnia, nervousness and irritability. The drug affects your central nervous system which raises your heart rate and blood pressure.

It is an addictive drug and therefore if a dependent person quits they will experience several symptoms of withdrawal. The withdrawal syndrome for caffeine is head aches, cloudy thinking, nervousness, irritability, insomnia, and increased emotionality. These symptoms usually last for a few days to a week and are accompanied by feelings of craving.

I think I get addicted to it quite easily, If I drink Soda then I usually have a Diet Coke, but if I switch just even for one week to Full sugar Coke then I find it really really hard to go back to drinking Diet and I get reslly grounchy and headachy without it. Must be the sugar as well as the caffiene. When you cut down on sugar it gives you headaches I think. Not too healthy I suppose. Drinking more water is probably the best thing as it keeps you hydrated and being de-hydrated can give you headaches too.

Usually when you feel that way your body is actually in need of water. I think people can become addicted to caffeine that's why there are so many drinks that have it. It's not healthy.
