the FDA doesnt make them. same reason why cigarettes do not list their ingredients. They are not good for you.

Some do, in some countries! In the USA any wine of 6.9% alcohol or less is regulated by FDA and not BATF and so has nutritional info. (Go check cider - which is apple wine, after all - packaging the next time you shop alcoholic beverages). But US federal law and regulations for BATF forbid any mention of nutrition or that alcoholic beverages in moderation might be good. Big article about this in an issue of N.Y. Times of a week or so ago. Go to Times' website and search "wine labels health claims."

I think it's for two reasons. The producers don't want consumers thinking in terms of nutrition or health because it's a contradiction with drinking alcohol. And since government's tax alcohol, it's against their interest to force producers to provide that information. I do think it would be interesting to know about the B vitamins in various beers and so on though.

O.K. we know what you like to do!! I ain't mad at cha!!! There is not alot of nutrition in alcoholic beverages. Beer is just wheat & barley so there's no vitamins there, & no iron. Just calories!!! Ever heard of a beer gut?!

Coors light has 102 calories
Bud has 145 calories
