i think the worst alcoholic beverages i've ever had would be tequila, a margarita with way too much tequila, and red uv (it tasted like cough syrup)

I send my daughter to school with a lunchbox most days. Sandwiches are always on whole grain, and I either send cheese sandwiches or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. There's almost always a yogurt and some fruit (raisins or a banana). Sometimes I put some pretzels in there, and sometimes some fig newtons.

Occasionally, I send her with a thermos of veggie soup, with pretzels or crackers and a yogurt.

What else can I put in an insulated lunchbox? I don't do canned lunches (like the raviolis and stuff) because that stuff is SO high in sodium. But I don't want to bore her to tears with the same three items ALL the time.

Got some suggestions on a well-rounded lunch with some variety? Thanks!

OK, apart from the obvious spinach and dark green leafy type veggies (which my 4-year old won't eat), what are some great foods I can give her that are rich in iron (we also don't eat beef).

Today, she had Cheerios for breakfast, a strawberry breakfast bar for a snack, is having rice cakes with peanut butter, apple slices and cheese chunks for lunch. Later snack will be yogurt with apple slices. Dinner will be chicken, broccoli and maybe a sweet potato. I know she's getting good calcium, vitamin c, folic acid and vitamin A, but I worry about the iron! Any help?

We are having guests next week for the entire week. There will be about 16 of us for three meals a day. Breakfast and lunch will be no problem but I'm looking for some easy, inexpensive recipes that we can fix either in the crock pot, on the grill or in advance to keep the heat out of the kitchen in the evenings. I live in the south and it's begining to get hot. I'm already fixing lasagna one night and probably burgers and hotdogs another. Any other suggestions?
