Singles & Dating - 12 July 2007

We are friends, but recently, feelings we have both had for each other came to surface in conversation. We spoke in depth about it last night. He is in another state right now. So nothing is going on, but I did tell him how I felt. (After he told me first a few weeks back.) Tonight, we talked. He had a date with someone he met about two weeks ago on a blind date that he told me he really wasn't crazy about at the time, but was a total jerk to me on the phone while getting ready for his date. Teased me about my age...I am older than he is...but not in a funny way. In a mean way. Which isn't like him. He was incredibly goofy on the phone, like everything was a big joke. Told me he was TRYING to annoy me, because it was fun. Ended the conversation telling me he is planning to have a 'really superb evening' with his date. Not sure why he would be so callous all of a sudden. It was like talking to two different people between last nights conversation and tonight. Pls explain.

Alright, so it's coming up on one year for my girlfriend and i. We're in a serious relationship and have discussed everything, from our future together and kids to where we're going to live and how we'd like our house.

If you and your boyfriend were this serious, and for one year, if he would take you to a semi-suprise day.

I want to take her to a nice italian restaurant and make up a letter telling her everything that I have felt and how important she is to me. I wanted to know what would be the best time to do this (before, after, or during dinner) and if there's anything else that there would be to do.

Met up with a guy (dating potential ambiguous) but I was about 10 minutes late. He was on the phone inside, so I tapped on the glass outside and he waved so he knew I was there. Going to dinner, so I waited outside a few minutes so he could end his call. 3-4 minutes pass and he beckons me to come inside while he continues to chitchat for another 5-10 minutes before hanging up.

i would've left, but i had a belated gift that was for him and he was taking me out to dinner for my bday. it was one of those "so bad, it was funny" situations. dude couldn't tell why i was annoyed, but tried to be funny/charming until the bitter end of the evening.

should i stop being angry/annoyed abt the phone thing?
does this mean he doesn't have a clue or doesn't have interest or just hopeless situation and needs dropping?

I met a guy with an 8 yr old daughter. I normally dont date guys with kids, but he was he exception. I have been dating him for 8 months and what i noticed was how his daughter manipulated him and how she was allowed to be direspectul and rude to me in front him. After taking as much as i could take i begin to voice myself. I blatantly told him that he would be by himself in the near future if he did not check his daughters behavior. To this day our relationship has strayed because of her. My question is this, why would a man who knows that he has a good woman and companion allow a child to come in between his relationship. Kids grow up and leave and if you pass up a good thing along the way would'nt you regret having let your kids run someone off that you know was good for you.

Me and my boyfriend have been dating for about a year and 5 months now. We have had our terrible fights and about three weeks ago we finally broke up. We broke up because I was being controlling of him because I was very very jelous of the naked girls he had all over his computer and how many girls he LOVES to chat to on msn all the time. i have an 18 year old friend, and people say she's pretty, good body, everything, and to top it all off she's really nice too. and yet no guys would ever approach her. most of my friends, who are mean, careless, and not so good looking, guys would just approach to them. what is wrong with this? i mean when im with her guys would stare at her, stay close to her, and give her smiles and such, but would never talk to her. what can she do? no matter what she does they wouldn't want to approach her. other than making first move because she thinks its not proper for a woman to do that. no one would ever approach her normally. if they do, it wouldn't be as normal as a simple hello. as for my other friends they would get that. she's so lonely... i dont know what to tell her, cause im not in that situation.. so what should she do?
