but when he is around me he hardly talks at all. i here that he sometimes curses alot but it's when am not around, so i thought he was shy . why might he not talk to me like he talk to the other girls. does he just not like me

There are two reasons that he might be quiet around you. 1- he likes you and is shy around you. 2- he doesn't like you and is just too nice or shy to said anything bad about you to your face. I have been in both situations. I've liked girls and not said a word when they are around or I have hated the girl and I just stay quiet.

He probably does admire you, but, from a distance. In my opinion, that hardly counts. Don't get your hopes up, nothing significant will come of it.
