Singles & Dating - 1 January 2007

When my daughter first started dating an african-american man, I couldn't have been happier. All her life I taught her about the horrors of slavery and the greatness of the god-kings like Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parks. I'm a progressive liberal so I am more enlightened then your average american. I was so happy, I even didn't mind the age difference. She is 18 and he is 39. But my problem is that I think this man is taking advantage of her. He made her stop going to college so she could earn him money. She used to work as a waitress but that wasn't enough money for him so now she is a stripper. Worse, he lets his friends sleep with her but they have to pay him. I know this is societies fault so I don't blame them. Also, he had beaten her in the past, but I couldn't possible understand his rage. Sadly, she recently contracted HIV from one of the men and her boyfriend fliped out. He assualted me and said I owed him. I gave him some money but he said it wasn't enough. What can I do

On Dec 30 my best guy friend came over and then we were talking and he was telling me that I worry him and he cares alot about me and whenever I'm daiting someone new and there not around he always holds my hand and jumps on me and pkes me in the boob. And he treats me better than his gf and he complains to me that his gf can't kiss and stuff like that. And whenever I try to invite him over to do something and my bf is over he chickens out. Why? What do u think? Does he like me more than a friend? He says he doesn't but I'm not sure.

I am currently involved in a long distance relationship with a wonderful man. We met when I was living in England and we dated for a year but then I had to come back to Canada and we decided that we would have a long distance relationship. He came over to visit at Thanskgiving and is planning to get a work permit to move over here in the spring. Lately though, I am getting very jealous and possesive of him. He spent this past Christmas Eve and New Year's eve with a friend of his who happens to be a girl he used to be in love with. I never got to meet her because she was living in New Zealand when I was in England but now she is back and I hate it that they are spending time together. He has reassured me a number of times that I have nothing to worry about, and that he loves me and is faithful to me but I still have my worries. He is starting to get really mad about my jealousy and has even admitted that its driving him away from me. How do I get control of my emotions? HELP!

i've never been in a relationship, but don't try and use that against me, its just not right, there meant to love this gf, but they talk about there ex's to them!?, how do they think this makes there current gf feel, if the guy actually cares that is.

what is the mental processes behind it?

is it some sort of sick thing to get the girl to stick by them, thinking that she has to prove that she is better than the ex?

My friend and her boyfriend frequently go Dutch dating. Problem is that sometimes she covers up for him.
(They go Dutch, even on their ANNIVERSARY)

Just wondering what goes through someone's head when they drunk dial. My ex seems to do this often the other night she called 4 times in 2 hours and left 4 messages. I just dont answer because she is too cowardly to call when she is sober. I am not a big drinker so I dont get the concept. I am wondering if she misses me and maybe wants to reconcile or is she just drunk and cant control herself. We went out for 2 and a half years and she broke up with me and has new bf. Every time I go no contact on her this is what happens. I ended up hooking up with her one night when she has this bf. It was stupid to do but not I am just trying to cut all contact with her as it is not good for me, but anyways any insight would be helpful. Thanks

okay when I shave one day.. like the next day its kinda prickley. && when I go out,, I dont want to be prickley.. l0l. So when I shave like the next day,, I get razor burns. Is there any way I can prevent this besides not shaving 2 days in a row (b/c sum days I have to). I cant wax, b/c its super messy and it never works right with me. what could/should I do?

like i called him the other day to see what he was doing...and he said hell call me back to see if i wanted to go to a show with him, he never called me, never wished me a happy new years and i havent seen him in like a week and a half. hes a sweet guy when i do hang out with him, he tells me he loves me and treats me really good. but whats going on with him now??? we havent been together for a really long time either, hes not ashamed of me like he introduces me as his gf anywhere he goes, whys he like ditching me and ignoring me??

We've been emailing each other for more than 7 years now. Most of the time we have few hours of chat on msn, some times voice conversation. It seem like that we have many common interests and many things to talk about. We are come from the same city, but currently we live on different continets. I dont know what to do. Ive been dating this guy for over a year now and i love him a lot. but it really hurts me when he talks about his ex-girlfriends. i dont know if its jealousy or what, but it really bothers me. we just told each other things that were private things you dont normally talk about. ive never told anyone, but he has. he told his ex-girlfriend when they were going out because she asked him, but he didnt tell me until now and we've been going out for a year and month now. he said he was ashamed of it, but i dont understand why he couldnt have told me when he says that im the only one hes really felt comfortable with. i asked him one time about the private thing and he told me that he doesnt (but the way he got around this was because he HAS but he doesnt do it anymore). i consider that lieing and even if it wasnt, how could he tell someone who hes not comfortable with something personal like that instead of me, the person he says he cares so much about.

what is it with women? completely confused, So im talking to some gurls online, on the phone, or in person. Whatever the case is, At first we have decent conversations, seems they enjoy my company or talking to me. NExt thing, they act wierd and avoid me. or just completely stop talking to me? He never replies to her messages or answers her calls, but she won't leave him alone. The messages she sends are "friendly", nothing at all really, but while he and I were broken up recently, he was interested in her, and they went out a couple of times. I want to trust him and believe him when he tells me that he wants her to stop bothering him, but I just want her to stop. How do I tell him that I have a problem with her always trying to get in touch with him again without it sounding like I don't trust him to handle the problem himself?
