It is not your business. She must handle this in her own way which right now includes actively participating in it.

It all depends on the situation, and since you're just a friend, and not part of the couple, I don't really understand why it bothers you.
Some couples decide to do this for a number of reasons. Sometimes the female has a better job and/or more access to money, so it just makes sense. In other cases, the female offers to pay her own way in order to retain her own independence -- she doesn't feel like she has to rely on any man to buy her stuff, and that's commendable as well.
And, yes, in some cases, it may be that the guy is taking advantage of the girl. However, if they have a system that works for them, then just let them go ahead and do that. Chances are, he's NOT a bad boyfriend, and if he is, there will be a lot more red flags than just that.

For those who wondered, dutch dating or "going dutch" is when each person pays for themselves.
While it's not very gallant, I don't think that women in this day and age can assume the guy is going to pay their way. That comes along with "equal rights". If it doesn't bother your friend, stay out of it. If it does, she needs to find another boyfriend.

Sorry but i didnt understand it, do you mean your friend is you or is tehre really a friend whose bf goes dutch all the time. Coz, all u could do is to keep ur mouth closed coz i dont think ur friend would like u blowing up in front of her or him. Coz ur friend will think and feel stupid and even coward coz in that case her boy friend will look down on her that hse has no enuff self esteem to tell that instead of YOU. So, tell your friend to say that, NOT YOU...
Regards, and a happy new year....

Going Dutch is a slang term that means that each person eating at a restaurant or paying admission for entertainment pays for himself or herself, rather than one person paying for everyone. It is also called Dutch date or Dutch treat.

If your friend is OK with it then it is none of your concern. A lot of couples go dutch. What business is it of yours?? Just enjoy your friend and be there for her if she needs you. You sound like you care a lot and someday she may need you more than anything... I don't think this is it though. Good luck.

Advise your friend that in any courtships, it is guys that pick up the bills and not a girls. It is okay for girls to pay occassionally but not all the time. As for you being a 3rd party, its best you leave this with your friend and her boyfriend. Its a matter of time your friend may compare herself with others and eventually may even drop her boyfriend.

I don't think he's a bad boyfriend even though he may be a bit cheap. Does it bother your friend that her boyfriend doesn't have money to pay for the dates sometimes? If it really does then I guess she needs to talk to him about it, I really don't think its your place to say anything.

Ok, so what is the problem? They always split the bill, right? That's fine. It's their business. If she sometimes pays the whole bill and he never does, then he's a cheapwad and a bad boyfriend.
