financially and mentally stable, honest, trustworthy, good sense of humor, and good old fashioned chivalry. no guy is perfect and a girl shouldn't expect him to be, but knowing when you are wrong and being able to say your sorry goes a long way.

Ok, I did a Battle of the Sexes in my college speech class & one of the topics was "Turn for Guys VS. Girls" What you need to understand for one is that Girls think opposite when it comes to that term alone. When we went up to the chalkboard, the guys wrote all physical things, while the girl listed all permanent things.
--Girls date who they can see themselves marry. We like Good hygeine, considerate, good sense of humor, un-materialistic, goal oriented, has loyal friends, is a loyal friend. And of course we said that chemical chemistry had to be there as well. I have dated some major hotties in my life, but the 2 that i have fallen the hardest for were not that eye candy. Looks dont always matter. It's all about how u carry urself off as.

Yikes. Depends on the age and maturity level, for one thing.

When girls first start dating (ages 13-16), they tend to be looking for someone to take them out, to hold their hand, to buy them stuff, to take them shopping, etc. They're looking for someone who is cute enough, popular enough, and social enough to show off to their friends. Yet, because parents are still very important as well, they generally want someone who is also nice enough to bring home to meet the parents.

Somewhere in high school, many girls change their tune and start looking for their "soulmate" -- someone who always has all the right answers, always knows exactly how to make them feel special, and would never even consider looking at another girl. They want a more personal connection, yet still want freedom to hang out with whoever else they want as well.

During the 20s, many women start to look for a husband. In this stage, they're generally looking for someone with common morals, values, goals, aspirations, hobbies, and friends. Most are looking for someone who is affectionate (at least in private!), responsible, mature, and who will be a good provider and/or who will be willing to stand by them while they pursue a career of their choice.

As with everything, you can't really generalize, and it all depends on the type of person you're looking for and the specific person you're thinking of, but maybe this will give you a good starting point.

so okay. not every girl in the world is shallow. and not every girl in stuck up and preppy. i personally don't care what a guy looks like. i look for a guy that can always make me smile. that wont go after my friends. one that respects me. it all sounds cliche. but its pretty true. stay honest. don't be somebody you're not. i like guys that are individualists. ones that follow the crowd. guys that are like, "dude! my daddy just gave me $100, lets go to the mall!" or "wow! you're hot! you wanna hang out sometime?!" are just the guys that most girls stay away from. i mean, what girl wants to date a guy that wont work for his own money or a guy that wants to date her only cause of her looks?

Many women are too shallow to see past looks. So you have to be amazing looking or she'll never want you. Some men are too, but I've seen it on a much higher scale with women.

Honesty, trustworthy, sweet, CONFIDENT not cocky, funny, confident with who they are as a person in their own skin...., not afraid to look like an idiot, capable of laughing at themself....
