Are people who act, think and behave differently than "normal Americans" more likely to be fired or not promoted? Living in the south I tend to notice business don't like people who are different and view them as a threat to the corporate culture.

I once went to an interview and I mentioned all the things I'm doing in life (investing, traveling, etc) when ask about myself and the interviewer stop and asked "why don't you do that stuff after you get married?" Being the smart *** that I'm sometimes I told her "I don't put my life on hold over society's fluff!!!" Needless to say that ladies eyes look like a deer in headlights situation!!!!! I wasn't interested in the job really. More looking for the job hunter miles driven tax write-off anyway.

But anyway can being different cost you alot in corporate America?

I am n love with someone but my mom that lives in TX wants me to live with her. If i do that i have to leave him but then i lose all contact to my family. He is they only person i have in Ok. What am to do??

I lied about my step brother touching me because he was getting me in trouble.?
We go to the same school and I told some of his friends and my friends that my step brother was touching me but I was lying. I told my parents the same thing and wrote it in my diary incase they read it so that they would believe it. I posted it as my last question here. I lied because I am tired of him snitching on me. My parents told me I cant hang out at the closet (a place at school) and I do anyways. Well my stepbrother hangs out there too but he's allowed to because he's been hanging out there for a couple years. I dont think thats fair. I sshould be able to hang out where ever I want to at school. I finally told my parents I lied about my step brother. and now my parents wont let me go anywhere or do anything. My dad works and I heard my stepmom say she doesnt want to deal with me. Should I ask to live with my mom even though I rather live here? My mom lives far from here. I dont want to switch schools.

I only told the truth because my step mom figured out I lied because I told her it happened in the summer time but my brother wasn't even here and then I wrote it down and said it happened a couple months ago. I know it was wrong but now they expect me to go tell everyone at school i lied. If I do they will think im just trying to cover up for him anyways. How do I fix it? Some friends are giving him attitude and going up to him and telling him off. I know I deserve to be grounded but my step mom told me that im lucky she's not my age because she would clean the street with my face if she was. Now she tries to be nice but i know she hates me and my step brother doesnt seem mad but she told him to try to be mature about it not to be mean.

I know the women going rae all dressing up the their hubbies are usually the jeans n t shirt mob.




PS i'm not drinking as i am driving so the blokes will probably
wind me up in shirt n trousers as its unusual for me to wear them..

OMG! I have so many to choose from. If I had made any of them differently, would my life had changed?

Ive been with my girlfriend for a year. We've been having ups and downs. Basically, we both have very strong personalities and sometimes pride and ego get in the way when we have disagreements. Hi, well first off, I hope everyone had a happy holiday!!!! I didn't though, because I'm SICK with a damned sinus infection. You see, I was at my chiropractor and he brought in his stupid dog. Now I've been going to him for 2 years and he knows that I'm severely allergic to almost everything. It's one of those stupid dogs too - the useless ones that are so tiny they can't even survive on their own, and you have to carry them around to prevent like stepping on them and killing them. Sometimes he does bring in the dog in there, but it always stays behind the front desk. The party is an hours drive away and i have to drive as the wife wont learn but she will get drunk while i stick to soft drinks .

i just became engaged after 5 yrs to my bf but i'm having doubts.he was married and had a son(sam) to a very controling wife thats the reason he divorced her 6yrs ago.she is very bitter over this and makes my life hell and its gotten worse since we got engaged.she calls,emails almost everyday,every little thing regarding sam requires lenghy phone calls which then leads into things related not about thier son.example on a romantic vac. she called to tell my bf sam had a cold,we were only gone 3 days and she called 4 times.she also told my bf she does not want me to go with him to sams school functions as i'm not his mother,she said he has to go with her.my bf said he will not say anything to her as he wants to take the high road with her for his sons sake and agrees with everything she does and wants.i think hes just afraid of her and knows i will make less of a stink than she will.how why does he allow her to control our lifes?am i wrong to feel this way?

I've been dating this guy for awhile we have had sex, we had our scare with me being preg. but he said he doesn't want to do it again till were in college. or after college. i said i don't want to do it, and i will have a test tube baby. I have known this woman for 1 1/2 months and we have been talking about moving in together. I am madly in love with her and I know that she is in love with me. We talked about it and since I am always at her house, we figured it was a waste to keep my apartment and pay rent and utilities when I am not even there. My lease runs out January 31, so by the time we would be completely moved in together we would know eachother 3 months. I have never been happier in a relationship and she tells me she can't stand to think of waking up or going to sleep without me. Everything about out relationship feels right so I think this would be a good move...you only live once right? Is it worth the risk?
