I'm african-american, and I have a girlfriend who was once married to a klu klux klan member. She has no ties to them any more because of their view points and has gained confidence to be herself and to believe in what she desires to believe in. Well recently she met this hispanic guy who is intrested in becoming more involved in her life and in her kids lives. He's very wealthy and respectable, but my friend is hesisitant because she feels her husband who isn't involved in her kids life in any aspect may try to come back in the picture and hurt this guy because of his race. What should she do? Or what should I tell her as a friend. She's hasn't disclosed any of this to her new boyfriend.....

She does need to tell her new boyfriend about her ex-husband being in the Klan just in case. Most of those people's elevators don't go to the top floor if you know what I mean. Or put another way, they are a few bricks short of a full load. You never know what they will do. And they do have a propensity for violence in a lot of cases.

Your friend needs to tell the new guy about her past and ex's. thats very important, and if this guy is a real threat she needs to tell him. if she loves him like that. love is love, love is colorblind. she just needs to be up front with her new love. and for the ku klux klan guy: if he gets all crazy and really try somethin, she can do something about it. Thats what the police and law for. We are not in the 1940;s or somethin. So tell her she needs to tell him, dont leave him in the dark.

She shouldnt live her life by what she thinks her ex may or may not do. She needs to be open and honest regarding the new guy so he is aware and he can make the decision if he wants to continue in a relationship with her.

I married a wonderful man out side of my race. I love him dearly. You're friends husband isn't even involved. You friend needs to do what makes her help. If the ex husband isn't around how will he even know?

As a friend you should tell her that her happiness is what matters and she should not hold this back from the boyfriend and let him decide which way to go.She cannot let someone who is not involved in her life/kids control the way she lives...

It is alright to date anyone you love. However, you friend has issues that need addressing. If harm could come to this guy because of her past then the guy needs to be informed and if he chooses he can go into the relationship with his eyes wide open.
