I have one and I always said that I didn't want any! I think that society looks down on me for having an only child too! People ask me EVERY DAY when am I going to have another! My daughter is 8 and I DONT want anymore! I get told how mean that is and how unfair it is to her. What I think is unfair is the world wanting me to take on more than I can carry! In my opinion have as many as YOU want!!! Ive learned to ignore all the crap that people say and you should too. Honestly, society is going to have an opinion anyway it goes!

I have two of my own and 1 stepchild and yes i want more children atleast one or two more. One for now and we'll see how it's going with 4 before we try for five. And yes I do believe that society looks down on people who choose to have more children because times are hard and it's more expensive to live these days and people think that if you have a big family you are getting some kind of government benefits but I am here to say that that is not always the case. Some people just love children and want to have a big family and I see nothing in the world wrong with that.

I had two daughters, my youngest has 3, two boys and a girl. At my age, I would like to have more, but I'm a broken down old fart, from two semi truck wrecks, so no woman would want to have one with me. Or they would if they thought they could get a good child support order, but I don't have much money.

My generation did alter things that we are beginning to feel today. We had less children, less male children, and we encouraged our kids to go to college instead of working in Blue Collar fields. Now we are seeing a significant shortage in available men for those fields. These are jobs that women will not do, as a whole.

Now, 30 years later, the birth rate of male children is down by over 25%, to where female children out number males. The majority of aborted children are male, not by choice but by statistical circumstance. The first and second child a woman conceives will more likely be a male than female, but these children are prevented from being born through all forms of birth control.

A conference of social historians that was held here, pointed to the possibility that in 10 years, we will begin seeing men in white collar fields, or those in prison, being forced to take on blue collar jobs.

Another item they spoke about was the possibility that pluralistic families may become the norm, with women sharing one man so that they can have a father in the home for their children. We are beginning to see some of that now, with women having children with men whom they know have other women pregnant at the same time.

I have three and would love more but it's not possible. I think society looks down on families that choose to have more children and be supported by the state because they can't provide for the lives they are bringing into this world. I think if you can afford, great.

Four sons, no I do not want anymore children. And yes I do think that some within society look down upon others for the number of children they have, however, some within society look down upon others for any reason they can find. So, personally I do not worry about what others think. If they are not taking care of me, and I am not hurting anyone. Their ideas and opinions about my life really do not count. God bless****

I have 1 child. I always wanted more, but only have 1. I think it is split in society 50 /50 as to half the people look down on people with large families, half the don't.

I have 2 children and don't want more. My best friend has 4 kids and wants maybe more. She says she gets comments from people about all her children especially when she has with her 4 of her friends kids. When the 8 of them go with her to the store lots of people make comments. Most of the time she hates it. I don't understand why people have so many kids but I try to keep my mouth shut about it.
