Okay, so I have this friend, her name is Kristina. She is constantly talking about her so-called 'ex-boyfriend' every minute of the day. Truthfully, its getting annoying and I don't know how to deal with it. My other friend, Megan, is getting annoyed as well. Its to the point where everytime we hear his name come out of her mouth, we look at each other and roll our eyes. Like, it's not that we don't care about her and her feelings for him, (even though we think he flirts with her and wants to get with her just for a piece of ***) but she honestly needs to get over him and move on to better things. Like different guys. I dont know, like I want to tell her that she needs to get over him, but I dont want to be mean when I tell her. Confused. Help?!

I've got a friend who always seems to be in a competition with me. Everything I do, she will try to do. She only calls me to tell me when she's bought new stuff or done something she thinks will make me jealous. She even goes as far as adding the phrase"..so hah!" to the end of every bragging sentence. I've tried to encourage her, cos I think she probably has a low self-esteem. But, she's been at it now for almost 4 years. Believe it or not, but she's in her mid-20's. What should I do? I kinda feel sorry for her.

We've been good friends for about a year and a few months now. However, it was only until half-way that I she begun getting snotty and annoying, but at times she's a really nice person to have around and have fun with. As the days passed by with her, they seemed to have lengthened and I begun to have these strong urges to strangle her. Of course, I won't resort to that, but I want to break our friendship. She's not the sort of person to back down easy and take the hint. She's the exact opposite, she'll just cling on tighter and harder when I ignore her calls or e-mails. However, it's not so simple ignoring seeing as we have to see each other for work everyday. So how can I break up with her in a way that will stop her constantly following me and hanging with me 24/7 but maintain a VERY casual friendship to enable us to work together? By the way- telling her in the nicest way possible is NOT going to help, she'll want to know the details and debate about it

Of course there are loads of people that lie and just hunt these sites for easy prey,lol...etc but most of us have the odd person that we develop an online relationship with be it just friendly or something else...i suppose my question is ...is there someone that you talk to that you spend more time having good chats with than anyone you connect with in your normal day? and if so...does it strike you as odd or are you quite happy with it?

I work in a job that is mostly dominated by women so the gossip is very high.

So the other day, a couple of women were talking about another girl that had to go home because she was sick but immediately they started talking about her and passing accusations of her really having a hangover. I have no idea if the girl did have a hangover or if she was sick for real. I do know she did look terrible and didn't look well at well.

This girl also has a history of being out because she is "sick" and/or leaving early for not feeling well. She is also 22.

But the accusations that the other women passed around really made me mad and definately lose a little respect towards them. I felt like saying something but i didn't want to put myself out their like that...I just felt it was wrong because they really do not know if she was sick or not. I just hate two-face people and I can not see how they can work with someone so closely and then turn around and talk about them.

We meet and there was something between us, he admits that there is something we both felt it. We talked for hours and hours, nothing ever happening of course as we agreed to be just friends. Its so nice to talk to someone who has the same interests etc as you. There is only one problem now.. we talked about kissing (i know that quite amuzing - dont usually talk about it!!) we both want to so much.. there is just one thing i didnt yet mention he is married!!! Ha! i know what your all going to say - hes married and scum (maybe true) but the truth behind it all is that we are just friends, i didnt want anything else. But now oh hell its causing all kinds of questions for him.. does he love his wife anymore because he has feelings for me ? ? ? (this so sounds like a teen thing that even i would laugh at!)

In this modern day and age, boundaries are blurred. Demarcating and distinguishing different relationships with different people become more and more difficult.

Certainly, you might say that some forms of body language are exclusive only to couples or to those who have something going on between them, [whatever that is]. Does kissing/holding hands/etc a clear indicator that there is something aside from friendship? Why so? Where do you demarcate 'friends only' from 'more than friends'? (or worse, not friends at all.)

It's more than four years since I graduated from high school, but I still feel like a school kid at times like this. There is a party happening tonight for a friend of mine who's tying the knot soon. Most of my school friends will be there, but I've totally branched out from them so much that I don't like their company anymore. These friends of mine didn't really complete school as they left after the tenth or eleventh grade. They did other studies, got married and have their own families now. They are all comfortably off. And, in the meantime, I carved my own niche of friends and work that I'm comfortable with, and I feel uncomfortable meeting my old friends after such a long time. It's like we have NOTHING in common now. To make matters work, I'm single. A few friends have commented on it in the past, and it really hurt me although I didn't show it. Contrary to what they think, I really am sought after, but I'm picky about my choice of mate. They just see me as a failure. Help!
