I work in a job that is mostly dominated by women so the gossip is very high.
So the other day, a couple of women were talking about another girl that had to go home because she was sick but immediately they started talking about her and passing accusations of her really having a hangover. I have no idea if the girl did have a hangover or if she was sick for real. I do know she did look terrible and didn't look well at well.
This girl also has a history of being out because she is "sick" and/or leaving early for not feeling well. She is also 22.
But the accusations that the other women passed around really made me mad and definately lose a little respect towards them. I felt like saying something but i didn't want to put myself out their like that...I just felt it was wrong because they really do not know if she was sick or not. I just hate two-face people and I can not see how they can work with someone so closely and then turn around and talk about them.

I hear ya i get pissed off too when people gossip and half of the time they don't even know what there talking about. i know it bothers u but try not to get involved because it will get u no where. The people who like to talk crap and are two face will pay a big price in life one day. Just do a great job working and worry about ur life, u will be greatly reward for ur actions and kindness!!!!

No, it isn't wrong to get mad at your co-workers for that. I've been the victim of co-workers' gossip, so I know firsthand what that's like. I hate to say this, but if you don't say something to them, it will look as if you're in on it too. Maybe you could find a way to tell the girl in private that there is malicious gossip about her. (If it were me, I'd want to know.)

It only bothers you if you let it so why let it? You give the power to others if you allow them to affect you. Do you like giving them this power over you? Be glad it isn't you and stay clear of those katty beyaches! Watch out what information you allow to be know as you now know what can be made of it by gossiping co-workers!

I feel for you because I know what it's like. I am female and have to listen to the other girls gossip all day long. I stay out of it as much as I can. don't say anything to them, because they will only start on you too. Just ignore them as much as you can too. Good luck dude!

Best way to handle gossip is to kill the people with kindness that spread it. they will be so confused of why you don't want to get in on the bashing of another. When people in general gossip it's because of something they are lacking in their own life.Been on both sides once or twice in life. It's human nature!

yea you could apologize again but you already did so if its not enough then oh well you need to stop being soooo nice there is nice and theres walk on and use nice you are walk on nice you will never know who is your real friend if you keep buying everone and there are other ways to be nice than to buy things for people you are already doing them when you say sorry or do things for people (not buing them lunch etc. ) these people are using you they never return the money they borrow and they never buy you lunch or return any favor for that matter so be nice with words but not gifts or do things for people but not like there work etc.

She is unprofessional if she is at work hungover, but so are the girls who are gossiping about her. It is difficult not to get involved, but you are leading by example by staying out of it. You should do what you are there to do..... work, the boss will think more highly of you for it. ")
