I've got a friend who always seems to be in a competition with me. Everything I do, she will try to do. She only calls me to tell me when she's bought new stuff or done something she thinks will make me jealous. She even goes as far as adding the phrase"..so hah!" to the end of every bragging sentence. I've tried to encourage her, cos I think she probably has a low self-esteem. But, she's been at it now for almost 4 years. Believe it or not, but she's in her mid-20's. What should I do? I kinda feel sorry for her.

She is jealous of you. Even in your 20's you can act like a child. Ask her if your relationship means anything to her, because she is making you feel as if she is always trying to out do you and make you feel what ever you do is not good enough for her, and you want her friendship based on trust and companionship not competition. A 4 year friendship should not be about who has more or who does better.

Say in a bored tone, yea thats cool, I gotta go. Make every phone call only last 10 secs so she will get the picture after she calls you 100 times and you only talk for 10 secs at a clip. Plus she will only get to say hi and bye that way lol. You dont need to be in contact all the time with a person like that. Small , quick doses are the best.

Well as a friend you should talk to her and be upfront. A real friend tell the truth, and I'm sure that you will get the truth out of her too. But we all have friends that does things that bugs the hell out of us, and if its that bad then you should be afraid to tell her the truth.

yea i got a friend lyk that too but you know wat i do i ignore her because she thinks shes prettier than me and she thinks that shes skinnier than me but i dont put myself down and i say to myself oh u want to play this game so i bought me some $95.16 shoes and she said it starght up u know wt u win and i was all lyk there u go but please try not to put your self down cuz if u do ur just hurtin yourself ........
