only official i want a true friend

2007-03-02 01:25:53 · 9 answers · asked by kiran_gs82 1 in Friends

I got a job doing stuff/working on a house my dad is renting out. The woman renting the house is an incredibly attractive single mother around my age... a little older (I'm 21, shes 27).

I've been spending the entire day with this woman 3 days a week, and we get the opportunity to talk a lot. She's a little flirtacious with me, but I brush it off.

I'd never do anything with her, and I'm sure my girlfriend knows this, but she's still jealous (I'm sure I wuld be jealous too in a similar situation)... I want to ease her jealousy.

I had a hot bath with rose petals in/on the water and tealight candles all around the tub with a glass of wine waiting for her when she came home. Well, as she was sitting in the tub, and I reached over to wash her back and accidentally knocked a candle into her lap and it singed a few of her hairs, she got mad and hasn't spoken to me since. Is she overreacting?

what makes a guy want to marry or not want to? is marrage like possesing the other person like a guarantee? or is it simply a act of love? or is it seen as just a piece of paper? or can a couple have a happy life- relationship without the need of getting wed?

Since I sign up in a penfriend's website, I received many mails from many different people. I don't think I can cope with so many, so I would like to discard some. The problem is, I don't know how to judge which one should I reply to, and which should I discard. I feel very guilty for rejcting them some how. What should I do?

I was in a relationship that lasted 3 years, during that time I had met someone who at that time was just a friend. We would talk about evrything, our children, our relationships, ect... now that we both are single there is a chance that we might have something more than a friendship, we both have talked about it, or atleast gave hints to it. My question is, do I try and make it more, or just leave things as they are.

We both get along very well, we have made a great freindship over the years, I love her dearly as a freind, and am attracted to her.

Ok. I need some guy's opinion on this. My bf is separated from me by seas and mountains and we see each other about every once in 2 months. Recently, he was very upset and message me telling me that he feels that i'm with some other guy and that i've been with him for a motive all along. I want to assure him that i love him and only him and only wants to be with him but i really dunno how. Is it his insecurity that caused him to mistrust me or is it the distance between us? How do i make him know that all i want in life is him. No ulterior motive, just want to spend all my moments in life with him.

So my brother studied abroad last semester and met a girl in Ecuador. I'm sure she's nice but the family is very upset. She doesn't speak any English and our Spanish is mediocre at best. He's only 21, freshly graduated, living with my mom and no real job yet. His plan is to marry her, work on the visa process, get a job, move out and then bring her here.

Is that an admission of guilt or that he's at least "thinking" about it? Obviously, I'm very naive.

Do you remember when you believed in Santa Claus and wonderous that was? Well I think (because of our culture and societal norms) that people believe that about marriage (before they are married and for the first few years) and that marriage is a wonderful thing and that you will live happily ever after.

Then the reality of it sinks in almost like being told that there is no Santa Claus. You know you were lied to about Santa and that marriage is not about living happily ever after but about how much crap you are going to have to take from the person who professed to love you until death due you part. Both are lies you are told that you believe and our society promotes.

So I would assume most people do not believe in Santa anymore how many actually believe in marriage?

my boyfriend and i have been seeing each other for a little over a year. we have talked about having children. well, now im pregnant. at times, he seems he is happy about it. our relationship isnt the best right. we broke up a couple of months ago and he has moved his ex back into his house. i believe ive messed up bad. i dont want to have an abortion but it seems he would be okay with that decision rather than keeping the child. i have lost a lot of respect for him and iam wondering what to do. i dont think god would give me more than i can handle. keep in mind he hasnt told his ex that currently moved in with him. and he hasnt told his family. we have talked about him seeing a counsler or someone within the family. but i dont think he has made an effort. either way, he seems he will be fine with me having the child but would prefer the child be aborted. at this point, i dont even think i love him anymore. ive actually been thinking about never talking to him again.

I am in the process of getting a divorce. We had no kids. My ex made me feel so bad about myself as a woman taking care of a home. It is true, i am a proffesional woman, and yes, i hate to do house chores, but he knew it before we got married. I had to stand disapproval faces almost everyday, he did not share a penny with me (yes 50-50 escenary), but he cooked and he was not disorganized as i am. At the end he stopped showing affection to me because i was a disaster at the house. I feel so inadequate to any man now and so hurt.
Now, this new guy is really something what is he is only a rebound. I do not want to hurt his feelings as well as mine again. We know each other for about 2 years. (He was my landlord). He is very sweet, emotionally by me, attractive and succesful. We had sex...it was greaaaaat. What makes me doubt also... he is 20 years older than me, and never married.
Should i give it a try or should i just focused in my emotional recovery before dating again?

my boyfriend went out with his mates last night in town. one mate is younger than the rest of them (they are all mid 30's and the mate is 29) they got refused entry to a few clubs as the mate was wearing trainers, a slogan tshirt and a hoody). they guys were not very impressed and asked him next time to wear something a bit more respectable. He got in a huff and went off home saying that he will wear what he wants. the guy has no girlfriend, a job he hates and still lives at home with his parents, swears a lot and plays on computer games a lot. (personally I can not figure out why they are friends with him as the others are all settled with houses and girlfriends etc) but he has been in their group for a long time. how can they get him to be more personable without being cruel. aparently he is always moaning he has no life, but wants people to accept him as he is and is not prepared to change for anyone.
