i have been wooing this girl for the pass two months now.yesterday was her birthday,I bought her a birthday cake and birthday cards. We went out to an e-tree. we had great time and fun.Infact i was really happy that atlast i have finanly gotten the girl of my dreams.just for her to start saying words that really break my heart.She said she likes me very much,and that she even told her friends that she likes me very much and also that she cannot forget me in her life.she said she is in love with some else. that same way i am feeling for her, that how she is feeling for that guy.that she is really in love with that guy.And that she wish I was the first.Infact i felt very bad. becos she is all i have ever wanted in my life. what will i do! forget her and move forward or still keep puting more effort. But one thing i am sure is that i am really in love with this girl.Also i had sleepless night that same day.Please should i continue, i need the best advice

I have been dating this guy for like 8 months. I can't get him to commit. He says he want's to finish school and then he will be able to concetrate and be ready for a future with me. Let's see now..
I grew up with abusive parents.

One incident in particular,
I was a kid, maybe 10 or 11,
and I was in the bathroom naked...

they barged in and beat the hell out of me.

Not only was I in intense pain, I was being humiliated as well.
Until today, I still don't know what I could've done to deserve that.

And this other time, my dad grabbed my head and kept hitting me.... as I was carrying a baby (either my bro or sis, I can't recall).

My mum mellowed earlier than my dad.
He was physically abusive up till I was (suddenly) too big for him
to beat up.
After that, he was emotionally abusive.

That was years ago...
and now, eventhough he has mellowed,
I can't bring myself to love him.

I know if it weren't for him,
I wouldn't have got an education,
and become the man that I am.

And I intend to make sure that at least,
he lives (fairly) comfortably.

Anyway, the question: anybody else here ever been through something like that?

Ok, my husband is leaving for Iraq in January. I've got 2 kids and I'm due with my 3rd in Feb. We are from California but we are in Georgia right now. I had decided I was going to move back to Cali while he was gone for a few reasons. For the family support and to be back where I grew up because I know when he comes back we will never be living back there again. But there are great advantages to staying on post as well. And I finally met a new friend who's husband will be leaving too so we have talked about moving in to together when they go. She has no kids, yet at least. But I really want to be near my family but I also really don't want to leave her alone she has no family to go back to and she has become my best friend. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments on what they would do? I'm just trying to weigh the pros and cons before I make a decision and maybe some other people's points will give me some other things to think about.

She's completely opposite from any girl I 've ever dated. She's not a cheerleader or dance team, she's a little heavy but she has this "i don't care attitude" that makes her seem real and not fake and I think thats what I need to see. She doesn't wear the same clothes and she does her own thing. My question is should I ask her out? Will she shut me down or should I just forget her?

Scenario is as follows:
I hang out with guy who has been checking me out and vice versa at my gym, we hold hands, he has his arm around me, make out..everything is good. He tells me how intimidated he has been by me, I tell him the same. He suggests hanging out the next weekend, we text a few times and he says how great it would be to hang. Saturday, the day we are suposed to hang out, I text him to see what we're doing, he says he's slammed with work and will let me know in a couple hours. Then texts me 3 hours later and says he's staying in and will call me tomorrow, apologizes for late notice. He DOES call next day, leaves a sweet msg, i call back, lv msg, no call back from him. I see him at the gym the next day, he comes up to me the minute he sees me and says he's been head under water with work and will be around more in the next 2 days. He's not married, no GF, very awkward and shy, sorta weird. Maybe he's just downright strange to begin with but is it me or was I blown off?
