How would you answer the following questions?

I think my life would be a lot easier if I had _________.

or

I think I would improve my life a lot more if I can get rid of ____________ (a problem).

*******************

I just want to know what kinds of problems people have, and what solutions they'd like to receive. A problem about the environment itself would be awesome too.

We are thinking of moving to a house which is about 50 foot from an electricity sub-station (inside a smallish brick built building - approximately garage sized) owned by a national electricity company. You sometimes see on housing estates or fenced off close to houses with signs that say things such as "danger - risk of electricution" etc.

Are there health risks with living so close to such a substation - particularly for children e.g. leukemia/cancers? Is this the same risk as living near electricity pylons?

I have found it difficult to find information on this - are there any Yahoo groups re this topic? Thanks

OK so I was looking in to buying a mobile home but after the recent 5.6 earthquake we just had here in San Jose, and apparently another one coming from the Hayward fault. Is it really safe to live on houses that have almost no foundation under neath? .

Please answer 1, 2 or 3
Answer 1: The Environment?
Answer 2: Mankind?

Why do you ask questions? Do you just want your question answered? Have you an environmental issue you want to raise?
Are you using your questions as a way to find alternate opinions or views or more information? Why do you ask questions?

The other day ago my family had a family reunion at the park. When we left, the ground was covered with cigarette butts. Well today when I went back to the park, all of the cigarettes was gone. I guess the rain got rid of it.

(One of my co-workers asked this question in another section, and a responder suggested that it be posed to sections populated with environmentalists, and Democrats, respectively. He wanted to do that, but had reached his questioning limit for the day. So I'm doing it for him, which is fine with him. And I'm just as interested in the answers to this as he is!)

The bulk of the oil shale is in Colorado, and Big Oil said, back in the 1980s (when oil was around only $20 or so per barrel) that once the price reached $60 or so, it would be economical for us to start gleaning and refining it. So by NOW, we could be making ourselves TOTALLY independent of foreign oil. So NOW what is Bush's, and Big Oil's, excuse for not doing that?

I noticed all the liter on streets and have actually witnessed people throwing papers. I will put any trash I accumulate in a plastic bag that I carry in my purse and find a refuse bin to dispose of it. I was taught this as a child!! My husband is the same way. We are both 18 and got married hurriedly because he was leaving for Army Infantry training and decided this was the best for ourselves and the baby we are expecting. We've known each other since age 13 and have remained friends over the years. I remember one incident when he and I and Jamie's baby sister were in a car being driven by his mother. We were in the backseat tickling the baby to get her to smile and laugh and each other and it got a little out of hand. Jamie had a water bottle in his hand and threw it out of the car. His mom was driving and she pulled over and yelled at him for littering and disturbing her driving. She punished him for littering but not me I was a guest lol lol. We were both 14 at the time.
