I noticed all the liter on streets and have actually witnessed people throwing papers. I will put any trash I accumulate in a plastic bag that I carry in my purse and find a refuse bin to dispose of it. I was taught this as a child!! My husband is the same way. We are both 18 and got married hurriedly because he was leaving for Army Infantry training and decided this was the best for ourselves and the baby we are expecting. We've known each other since age 13 and have remained friends over the years. I remember one incident when he and I and Jamie's baby sister were in a car being driven by his mother. We were in the backseat tickling the baby to get her to smile and laugh and each other and it got a little out of hand. Jamie had a water bottle in his hand and threw it out of the car. His mom was driving and she pulled over and yelled at him for littering and disturbing her driving. She punished him for littering but not me I was a guest lol lol. We were both 14 at the time.

God damn, you pick up other people's litter?! That is probably one of the most unselfish and thoughtful thing I've ever read on the internet (screw celebrities). I litter because I'm giving back to the earth (biodegrade that sh it). But with honesty, I throw things away in the trash can most of the time, the only time I can recall myself littering was when there was no trash cans, and I don't/couldn't hold the trash until I found one. After reading this, now I will throw my trash away all the time...

Because people are nasty and too lazy to find a trash can. I've pulled over to yell at kids...this one set was outside a Wendy's and just dropped his cup and ice right on the sidewalk. I got really pissed, especially since there was a trash can five steps away from him. I told him to pick it up and throw it away and have some pride in the town you live. He actually did it, and I was shocked!

Well, because our society is lazy and they don't want to bother walking 10 inches to the trash can or recycle bin to throw their junk away. they would rather take the easy way out and throw it away on the sidewalks and such. you've been raised properly and I'm glad there are people like you still in this world, or our surroundings would be a mess.

Most people are just careless. Especially when its nothing that personally involves them personally. Like home, car, boat ,etc... People don't care like they really should anymore they figure if no one see me I can get away with it. They also get off on during something that's against the law as well. When people are upset they also litter everywhere feeling that it makes them release anger better. It so many reason's that people litter in our world today till there is no pinpoint reason to just settle on .

People are lazy and dont care. They were not taught correctly when they were growing up to respect the space that others occupy with them. I always wonder if they just throw trash on the floors in their homes or if they are careful to put it in the waste basket.

i would say people litter because its "easier" than finding a waste basket but these days waste baskets are everywhere and there is no excuse unless you are stranded somewhere and have to. thats great that you are picking it up as you go along your day, if everyone did that the world would be a cleaner place. im going to start doing it myself. nice idea

It's sad, but people are way too lazy to pick up after themselves. That's why it's great for there to be people like you in the world, who clean up!!
