Also what are the health risks if logs are situated in an area like a playground? how would you go about treating any of the risks?

Yes, they will leach into the soil. If you come in contact with treated wood, and do not use gloves, it can cause an allergic reaction.

People that have a propensity to a reaction could even suffer illness or death from prolonged exposure, but such reactions are rare.
