by keeping the draughts out and keeping the heat in.

Try not to stay sitting down for long stretches. Get up and move around a bit. Any kind of activity, from walking to the shops (as long as it's not very cold) to doing the vacuuming, gets your circulation going and makes you feel warmer.
During cold weather, regular hot meals and hot drinks will provide warmth and energy.
It is very important to keep warm in bed at night. A hot water bottle will warm up your bed, as will an electric blanket, although you must never use the two together as this can be dangerous.
Wearing the right clothing to bed is as important as wrapping up when you go outside - thermal underwear or pyjamas and bed socks will all help keep you warm right through the night.
A warm, milky drink before bed can also help and, if you sometimes wake during the night feeling cold, you could keep a flask of hot drink by your bedside too.
Try and make sure you have enough bedclothes.
Finally, however much you like the fresh air, in very cold weather it is advisable to keep your bedroom window closed.

Even if you don't feel like cooking, try to have at least one proper meal a day. Certain foods, such as potatoes, beans, bread, milk, eggs, meat and fish, are all good sources of protein, energy and vitamins which will help keep you healthy.
Eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables will also help. Contact the local council for details of the Meals on Wheels service in your area, which can provide hot meals.
It's also a good idea to keep stocked up on some basic foods so you don't need to go out to the shops on very cold days.
Wrapping up warmly, both indoors and out, is very important. Several layers of thin clothing, for example, a shirt or blouse, thin jersey and cardigan, will keep you warm by trapping air between them. Clothes made from wool, polyester or fleecy synthetic fibres are usually warmer. Thermal underwear can help beat the chill.
Warm, thick tights or long socks are a must, as well as a warm pair of slippers.
When sitting down, a shawl around the shoulders or a blanket over the knees will provide a lot of warmth.

The best way to generate body heat is to keep your metabolism up. Wearing lots of clothes won't help you if you're body isn't producing any heat. Here are a few strategies:
1. Keep eating. As long as you're eating healthy and not getting fat, there's nothing wrong with a good meal.
2. Get excercise. I'm not talking about agressive body building or even aerobics. In fact, if you exercise too hard you'll sweat and get cold. Keep doing the workouts you already do, but in addition go for a nice, long walk once a day. Like maybe after dinner walk around your neighborhood and say Hi to the neighbors. If you have a dog, take it for a walk.
3. Drink caffeine. This isn't healthy, but it can actually work. One soda with each meal can do wonders.
4. Don't wear so many layers of clothes that you sweat. Like I said earlier, sweating will just make you cold. If you wear less clothes, your body will acclimate and make more heat.

Lots of things you can do....but the best may be to increase your circulation through exercise. If you're walking...even if it's in the cold...you'll warm up and feel great afterwards.

Aside from that, buy an electrical blanket and turn it on 15 minutes prior to going to bed...keep it on low while you sleep. Buy some thermal socks and long underware. Put the long underware on under your jeans or other pants to keep in that body warmth.

Also...wear hats! Heat rises....so keep your head covered with some great hats during the winter to keep you warm.

Okay...and the obvious, yet non-practical answer would be to move south for the winter! :o)

Good luck!

I am always cold too, so I always wear a beanie (woolly hat that fits the top of your head worn at the back like a scull cap) in winter. I even wear it inside the house too. I am in and out of the house all day so a hat really stops that deep bone chilling. If I am really cold, I have a baby's size hot water bottle tucked down inside my coat too before I go outside. Try it, absolute bliss.

Move your body, eat!!, put more clothes on, turn up the heat!,
drink some tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, curl up in front of the TV or with a good book, buy a fuzzy blanket, or an electric blanket, get a boyfriend or girlfriend, get a big hairy dog to sleep with, move to a house with a fireplace, take a hot shower or bath, put on socks, get a sweater, or you could move to Hawaii!

Extra layers are great, but I'm concerned if you're constantly cold that you may need to go to your doctor to have your blood drawn to rule out anemia. In the meantime however, I find that space heaters work well, and that down blankets at night are great. :o) I always keep a blanket and sweatshirt in the trunk of my car just incase. Handwarmers are awesome too :o)

Also, warm drinks actually help by warming you from the inside out. They warm your stomach and raise your overall body temperature. :o)

Wear more clothes. Stay inside in the heat. Use thick blankets. Eat hot and spicy food often - warms you up and keeps your blood going. Drink coffee or tea (in moderation.) Exercise regularly and eat a full, balanced diet - keeps you healthy, and makes sure you're continually cycling through energy.

HAts.. you lose 90 percent of your body heat through your head.. also layer your clothes so that when your outside your warm but when you go in if you get to hot you can start taking some of the layers off. And get a space heater lol

Eat a lot of Bon Bons to make you fatter. At dinner, go to buffets all the time and load up. The extra weight will warm you up. My wife did it and that ***** is huge!!! But she no longer complains about it being too cold out now!
