nope, it's 1934!!! guess what? the scientist were WRONG IN THEIR CONSENSESS!! a fellow from canada pointed this out to nasa, nasa re-did the numbers and sure enough...they were wrong, wrong, wrong...european nations are now scrambling to extradite themselves from the costly "green" investments they have squandered on so called "climate change"...

Every time I go to the gym i see all these poeple, myself included, wasting their energy. Couldn't the machines we work out on (treadmills, etc.) be configured to actually feed power back into the grid? Or at the very least- to power their own display screens so they wouldn't need to be plugged in?

I think it's pretty crazy so many democrats and liberals claim the enviornment is going to heck. Even Russian scientists have found we have reached the end of several solar flares. This summer has been very mild and winters are getting colder. I think the earth actually has a cold! Does anyone else think these green yuppies are full of sh|yt? I like to laugh at them driving their little hybrid cars while I zoom by them in my F-350 Crew Cab 13/MPG. By the way I live in the country and burn my trash, nothing like a good mid-day smore. I also like to fuel my truck during the hottest part of the day just to make sure I am using my right to freedom.

This was a trivial correction to some US data. The effect on the US data was a change of about a tenth of a degree for some years. The effect on global temperature was about a thousandth of a degree, completely insignificant.

So this chart is still correct. 1934 was not a very hot year.

NASA had to admit that 1980 wasn't the hottest year after all when someone else check the numbers.

I know you liberals dismiss the whole article because you see the R word in it but time to start asking how sure are they about this man-made global warming?

Please remember the 06 hurrican season was going to be the end of us than that didn't happen now it was suppose to be the 07 hurrican season and that hasn't happen.

The other day they said they didn't factor in enough for water so they said the real heat up will begin in 09 maybe.

Time to end the poltics and get the real people who study climate to get together and come up with a clear understanding of what is going on.
Also anyone making money off of it one way other the other should be dismiss too that does include Al Gore.

And I am saying this seriously. Im not an atheist trying to give you a hard time.

Many people(although not all) dont believe in global warming but do believe in god so I wanna know. How do you believe in him and not global warming?

-You say that through logic he exists because who else could have made this world right? But through logic, since we've been polluting the earth, its been getting hotter and hotter(mostly air pollution)
-We may or may not be able to prove that global warming exists but we may or may not be able to prove god exists either right? We dont know, we just believe or dont believe right?
-You cant really find actual proof that say here is the exact, tangible, undeniable evidence it exists. But then where is the exact, tangible, undeniable evidence god exists?

And if global warming CAN be proven, then why dont you believe in it and you do believe in god who hasnt been proven to exist. So far no religions have been proven true or false.

Ok -- this panel -- http://www.ipcc.ch/ - found in extensive reports and studies that global warming is occurring and is "very likely" man caused.

Where are they wrong? Their study and back up is available on that website. I'm looking for anything specific that has been refuted, not just generalities, how the UN can't be trusted and all that. I want to know where they are wrong - what data is wrong -- how have they misinterpreted it. Something specific please.

should be legalized? I mean it's a natural herb, It's not addictive, and it's no where near as bad as alcohol. I smoked some yesterday and I was high but not lethal to anyone like a drunk would be. Who agrees?

Do you really? Do you think that the world is heating up much faster than in the past. Do you believe that the ice caps are melting? Do you believe that as arctic icepacks melt the rising sea levels will cause unbelievable flooding along the coastlines of the world? Do you believe that as the climates shift and warms that the hot will get hotter, the dry dryer? Do you feel that the time to act is now? Do you think that this is too important to leave to one or two world governments who only interest is to keep them in power? That they have no concern for the welfare of the worlds people, especially the poor? Are you convinced that the root cause of this change in climate is smoke spewing coal fired power plants, The millions of American automobiles on the roads, the unrestricted deforest-station of the worlds few remaining old growth forests? That the diet of meat, meat, meat, is and will continue to take away valuable land for grazing that could have been used to benefit so many more? Do you really believe that? Then why are you here wasting power that was produced by those coal fired plants that are ran by men and women in those cars, who eat those cows that live in houses made of that wood. Isn’t that just a bit hypocritical?

If it were possible to do without further taxation, would you be in favor of a subsidy to make hybrids the same price as their traditional counterparts?

If not possible to fund this without more taxes, would you be in favor of adding steep taxes to gas guzzling luxury cars such as large SUVs and sports cars to fund such a subsidy?

In the 1970's, Bill Cosby posed the question "Why is there air?" and concluded that it was so one could blow up basket balls. A more timely question is "Why is there ice?"

The mean temperature of the Earth is somewhere between 5 and 19 degrees Celsius, depending on whose data is used. Since this entire range is well above the freezing temperature of water, then it is evident that without the spatial variation of temperature across the globe, Earth would not support the existence of water.

More importantly, if the spatial variation of temperature were reduced, i.e., there existed sufficient atmospheric mixing and/or changes in ocean currents then the polar ice would melt. This would not require any increase in mean temperature, no global warming, no greenhouse effect.

One consequence of this observation is that the melting of polar ice must be discounted as an indicator of global warming since other mechanisms exist that could be responsible.

"great masses of ice have now been replaced by moraines of earth and stones," and "at many points well-known glaciers have entirely disappeared."

So read the headlines on page 2 in the Nov. 2, 1922 edition of The Washington Post.

And 85 years later, Seals still thrive, Icebergs still exist, the Arctic is at normal temperature, there are no stones replacing ice, and glaciers still are in place.

So what was the problem in 1922? Probably an excess of horses. There probably was a push to get rid of gassy horses and to get clean burning automotives on the road.

It seems to me and others I have talked to that more and more of us are under the impression that this world is never ending. The population is rising, and I can't help but feel that people who have more than one or two children are clueless and selfish. This world can not continue to support a population explosion. The more space we consume, the less area we have to support ecosystems, the places required to grow food, support wildlife. This is directly impacted by population.
My second issue is renewable energy. Auto manufacturer's are just now realizing they need to be responsible. Technology in automobile engines have shown that 50 mpg is not impossible to acheive. It's been around since the 60's. Electric cars have been around since before then as well. Am I the only one disturbed by all of this? The stupidity of those who are driven by money instead of the desire to help.
And those who say Nuclear energy is clean....think again. The bi-product is toxic. Be aware

It's not the muppets driving them, new money thinking they're the dogs b*llocks, it's the amount of fuel these things chew through when driving between the endless sea of London's traffic lights. What's your average speed in London btw? 10 - 15 mph? Do the owners just not care about the environment? Do they offset their carbon budget? Should I run over them in my metal-spiked golf shoes?
