Yea, ever since Y2K ended, these sissies have too much time on their hands.
I like burning the leaves after picking them up with the rider mower after a nice Saturday afternoon 4 wheeling my Wrangler (15mpg) in the national forests!

There is no correlation between solar flares and temperatures (or sunspots, another GW skeptic favorite [1]). And even if there were, there is no reason to suspect solar flares would affect long temr temperatures here on Earth; Solar flares are short lived any effect they had would likely be fairly short as well. So it's pretty much irrelevant that we've reached the end of some. In fact, there has been no trend in solar activity since at least 1978 [2] (when accurate measurements of were first available), and very possibly 1940 [3]. Which means it is highly unlikely that the sun is the culprit.
This summer has actually been above average. In fact, it's the second hottest summer on record worldwide [4]. We're talking about =global= warming here. Not "dmays22's hometown warming". The global average temperature is the only one that matters here.
Keep in mind that while you may be laughing at hybrids driving down the road, it is they who will be laughing at you as they zip past you at the gas station.
And you'll have a bloody hard time smacking the guy who proposed global warming theory, seeing as he did so in the late 19th century [5].

First off, let's stick to the environmental part of the ENVIRONMENT section instead of switching on over to Politics.
Second, buy the movie An Inconvenient Truth. Once you watch it, then you come back and argue that global warming isn't real. I'd like to see that happen.

It seems like the global warming issue is being politicized by many folks. This is not a political issue but rather one of survival for the future generations. I have always researched topics before I have come to conclusions, and I have always based my decisions on scientific research not opinions generated by Politicians with hidden agendas. Global Warming is fact as supported by scientific research conducted by PHD's not Attorney's with political aspirations.

Folks in this section that belive in man made global warming/climate change often quote charts that span 100 years and show an increase in average temperature of about .8 degrees C. What they fail to do is put it in context. The average temperature has changed by about +4 to -9 degrees in the past 750,000 years and has warm ages and ice ages. Spikes of +1 to -1 degree C over a 50 year period are quite common. See for yourself:

I used to think the same way you do. There is enough information out there from both sides of this argument to make anyone believe they are correct. There are scientists that are paid a ton of money from companies like Exxon-Mobil to disprove any "enviornment is going to heck" notions. There are also scientists that are recording carbon data from ice cores that are millions of years old. It's their data from those ice cores that is scary to see. Whichever way you look at it, it's your choice. But I'm sure you feel good everytime you are at the gas pump filling your 13/MPG F-350.

Democrats and liberals like these?
"Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"
"Pat Robertson (very conservative Christian leader) 'It is getting hotter and the ice caps are melting and there is a build up of carbon dioxide in the air. We really need to do something on fossil fuels.”
Ford Motor Company CEO William Clay Ford, Jr. "I believe there is now more than enough evidence of climate change to warrant an immediate and comprehensive - but considered - response. Anyone who disagrees is, in my view, still in denial."
"The science of global warming is clear. We know enough to act now. We must act now."
James Rogers, CEO of Charlotte-based Duke Energy.
"Global warming is real, now, and it must be addressed."
Lee Scott, CEO, Wal-Mart Company
"Republican governors team up against global warming"

"the overwhelming number of scientists now believe that there is significant human cause,'' Giuliani said, adding the debate on the existence of global warming "is almost unnecessary ... ''
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/02/13/GIULIANI.TMP
"(from Republicans for Environmental Protection) The consensus of almost all climate scientists is that global warming is already happening, that human actions are causing it, and that it will cause major problems for our planet."

"National Review published a cover story this past week calling on conservatives to shake off denial and get into the climate policy debate"
The first person who proposed global warming did so in the late 1800s. You'll have to dig him up to smack him :-).

Well it's a shame that solar activity isn't causing global warming then, isn't it?

Please take some time to learn about the science behind global warming. Nonsensical ranting about your political bias may be fun, but it's not constructive. This is the Environment section, not the Politics section.
By the way, it is your freedom to waste your money, and it's my freedom to laugh at you for spending 4 times as much money on gas as I do. LOL!

Global warming aside, hybrid cars are also about saving money and lessening America's dependency on foreign oil.
You do realize we're in a war over oil?
