Do you really? Do you think that the world is heating up much faster than in the past. Do you believe that the ice caps are melting? Do you believe that as arctic icepacks melt the rising sea levels will cause unbelievable flooding along the coastlines of the world? Do you believe that as the climates shift and warms that the hot will get hotter, the dry dryer? Do you feel that the time to act is now? Do you think that this is too important to leave to one or two world governments who only interest is to keep them in power? That they have no concern for the welfare of the worlds people, especially the poor? Are you convinced that the root cause of this change in climate is smoke spewing coal fired power plants, The millions of American automobiles on the roads, the unrestricted deforest-station of the worlds few remaining old growth forests? That the diet of meat, meat, meat, is and will continue to take away valuable land for grazing that could have been used to benefit so many more? Do you really believe that? Then why are you here wasting power that was produced by those coal fired plants that are ran by men and women in those cars, who eat those cows that live in houses made of that wood. Isn’t that just a bit hypocritical?

Allegedly the Earth has warmed by .7 degree Celsius over the last 100 years. That is hardly rapid warming. On top of that, for all of you fear-mongering alarmists out there, you are either ignorant of the fact that NASA has announced they screwed up their temperature readings over the last 10 years or you are conveniently leaving that out of the conversation. Dare I say that it is an incovenient truth? *gasp*

So, according to NASA, their temperature readings were high by .15 degree Celsius since 2000. I love they way they try to dismiss and diminish the realization, but by my math that is 21.43% of the .7 degree Celsius.

My question is how CAN you believe it when these scientists use incorrect data for 7 YEARS? No wonder it is a consensus and not proven fact.

And for those posting anecdotal evidence, I live in Texas and last year we had more snow than normal. That obviously proves that global warming is not really occurring.

To most of your questions, the answer is either 'yes' or 'of course'.

"Then why are you here wasting power that was produced by those coal fired plants..."

My (work) computer would be on anyway, so I'm not wasting any power. However, I am informing people like you about the importance of addressing anthropogenic global warming, so overall I'm having a positive net environmental impact. Also, my home's energy use is less than one-third the national average, 34% of my power comes from renewable resources (solar, wind, water, etc.), and I enrolled in a program with my utility company to offset my electricity's greenhouse gas emissions. So no, it's not hypocritical.

I didnt read all of that stuff- there was a lot of it, but I dont thin kI believe in global warming-
I talked to my bio teacher about it and he said that his friend (my chem teacher) has a theory---
The world just is heating up some and it will cool down in a hundred years or more- we havent really been recording weather for that long of you think about it, the Earth just warms up and cools down... Like in the 60s and 70s, when the snow was over your head... Now we are lucky to get some good two feet to make a snowman!!!!
I this is really gobal warming, not many people are doing much- the government isnt doing much and I think maybe Al Gore should become pres. or something- bc even if it isnt global warming, i think he could help us reduce our effect on things...

I live in Montreal and 15 years ago it use to snow on Halloween or a few days later. Last year the first snow was after Christmas! If the world really is warming on it's own then it would be much slower then over a 15 year period. Scientists have proven global warming before happening over centuries not 1 or 2 decades! So this global warming is happening and it is because of our doing!

i don't think...if it were so it wouldn't have been - 20degrees Cdegrees C in winter thing that almost kill me because the previous years i refused to buy a fur ..in order to protect the animals and that year i didn't have the money to buy the fur and i was about to die so cold it was..

but God can send us several degrees ...because we sin...homosexuality , pornografy...instead of love of respect...
indeed this year was hot..and we don't know what God holds for us..it is obviously clear that from now on i won't stay in the city during the summer..

however ..in our popular terms since in popular every month has a popular term...since..we don't know ...since..back in time...the month of july is called in my language smth..like cooker...you know where you cook the cake...actually i think that God doesn't like urban aglomeration and sends us heat to make room...and mouve to work at countriside to crops and vegetables..and animals..who gives food..sheep etc...in the city ..the sun is hard..because blocks and streets etc...no land no grass no trees or forests..people should live in houses with gardens ..blocks are just incomfortable...

So why don't you get off our computer and be an example to everyone else?

yes, because i have seen pictures of the ice caps melting.
I do think it is heating up.
I think we should act NOW. because animals will become extinct because of the global warming. and when all of the animals start to become extinct, we will have less food.
and it gets too hot to grow crops, then everyone is going to starve.

I think there is an obvious lack of alternatives, rather than a "belief" issue as, "believe in Rush Limbaugh", "believe in Scientology", "believe in the tooth fairy". The word just doesn't apply

Co2 build up *FOLLOWS* GW, it doesn't cause it. For what it's worth, volcanoes produce loads more Co2 than humans, but the biggest producer of Co2 by far are the oceans, and that's caused by a more active Sun. There's nothing we can do about GW, it's natural.
