should be legalized? I mean it's a natural herb, It's not addictive, and it's no where near as bad as alcohol. I smoked some yesterday and I was high but not lethal to anyone like a drunk would be. Who agrees?

Decriminalization would free up a lot of space in our prisons and save money on enforcement. But pot shipped in illegally from other countries should still be illegal, as would be growing pot in national forests and parks.

Smoking and drinking are both bad for you.

If you're smoking marijuana at home, there's really no harm done. But if you get in your car and drive, or expose your children to that environment, there should still be ramifications. Outright legalization? No. Letting you grow enough for your own needs? I don't have a problem with that. If you're buying it off the streets, you don't know where it's been or what happened to get it to you. Think about that next time you light up, my friend.

Didn't you see reefer madness? Seriously, we should legalize marijuana and encourage those who currently grow poppies and other cash drug crops to grow marijuana instead. We could tax the hell out of it and use that money to fight the importation and distribution of harder drugs. Marijuana is only a gateway drug if the gateway is there, that is if it is bought and consumed in the same setting. There is no evidence to suggest that someone that smokes marijuana legally would ever use harder drugs.

There are also already laws against children smoking pot, against driving while high etc. so all of those arguments are BS also.

I agree. It should be controlled just as alcohol is, and subject to the same kinds of laws (i.e. against the law to drive under the influence).

It's so cheap to grow we could tax it like 500% and make a lot of money! Plus we would have govt. standards for safety and quality.

It should be legalized. It is just as, or maybe more harmfull in the long run than cigarettes, but the high isn't bad. Its more calming and makes you happier than alchohol. THE ONLY REASON WHY IT ISN'T LEAGAL IS BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT CAN'T TAX IT BECAUSE PEOPLE CAN GROW IT IN THEIR OWN BACK YARD.

I agree that Marijuana should be legalized....Think of the money it would bring in ....in sales....taxes....not to mention the fact that a lot of petty arrests would disipate leaving the police to do their REAL job, like catching criminals.

I agree wholeheartedly.

I never did anything I was ashamed of after lighting up.

How many drunks get in bar fights, have unprotected sex, drive and kill people, etc. etc., every day?

I agree. The worst that happens to you is you get red eyes and you get hungry. That's about it.

I'm stoned right now.
