Few years back, I saw a documentary on using gunny bags and sprinkers for an effective and cheap air conditioning mechanism. The gunny bags, used on rooftops hold water sprinkled by the sprinklers for sometime and finally evaporate due to heat. The evaporation pulls out additional heat from the roof thereby making it cooler. This mechanism is quite effective in tropical and mediterranean countres. Additionally the process involves no heat exchange mechanism used by airconditioners thereby laying to rest the fear of freon leaks or ozone damage. There certainly are more methods of cooling (or heating). Anybody interested in discussing?

Gore asserts that there are truth distorting, fact blurring, false scientist that are intentionally putting out confusing reports about the reality of global warming.
If this is true, Who is doing it and why?.
Who is responsible for releasing disinformation about the potential global warming and why?

I have mentioned sharing CPU time with research groups. Also, although it is still a new idea, things like ordering groceries over the Internet can help a great deal in many ways. First the delivery person can drive only one vehicle and plan the most efficient route to deliver thus cutting down on all the vehicle usage that would have occurred if each person had driven to the store. Also if a store only warehoused groceries it would not have to waste a tremendous amount of resources making the place "nice" for shoppers. This also would help lower costs of goods as the overhead would be reduced.

This is just one way. What other ways can you think of that the Internet would be useful to help us with our environmental problems?

I'm re-roofing my house and have been unable to find a certified roofer in my state that offers solar power as an option, let alone make it as affordable as the norm roofing materials. It's as if the greenhouse effect doesn't exist.

I'm ashamed of our lack of green options in Florida (and the Nation).
