My group is doing a blog on global warming for our high school senior economics project. My teacher expects a lot more from us than other groups and I don't know what else to add, please help with suggestions and comments! Thank you, it's greatly appreciated.
Our blog URL is http://globalwarmingissues.wordpress.com

Pretty nice. I like it.

I will caution you that having worked with National Geographic, they can be pretty tough about copyright issues (they made me sign away the rights to all photos I took while on a NGS funded research project). While it is commendable to give them a credit, I'm not sure your usage is following the letter of their terms of service:
"III. Educational Use of Content

With respect to Content designated as available for download for educational purposes, librarians, teachers, support staff, administrators, and other staff of educational institutions are authorized to download, print, reproduce, and distribute such Content as may be beneficial for use in educational settings. This authorization extends only as far as is necessary to directly benefit students.

*******(emphasis added)******Content subject to this Section may not be disseminated beyond the user's particular educational institution **************and may under no circumstances be used for commercial purposes.

Content used for any purpose must always maintain unaltered copyright and other proprietary notices. Content may not be re-posted, framed, or mirrored on any other Web sites or computer networks, regardless of educational use."

You might consider finding photos on government websites, as those are public domain and can be used freely in most instances.

USGS has some good photos of Glacier National Park showing old photos from 1914 to present from the same viewpoint. The loss of the glaciers is very dramatic in these photos:

NASA has some very impressive satellite photos of icebergs in Antarctica:

NSIDC has good imagery of the Antarctic ice shelf that is free to use:

Here's one of the most dramatic before and after glacier shots:

Here's the glacier mass balance data for 2004:

If you are looking for some support to your position in the mini-blog you might look here:

I won't say I agree with that position, but as you stated all sides deserve representation and I think that investigating all sides of the debate aid in critical thinking.

There is some relevant and interesting new research on sea level rise in Hawaii here:

(It is copyrighted but you can summarize it and link to it)

Great job. I'll try to visit the blog again.

We still have a majority of earthlings who do not believe in global warming as it has not impacted on their lives to make a difference so far. A lot of this scepticism comes from ignorance or simply not understanding the problem. Its seems that only the educated refer to it and fully understand it. I'm afraid that only a major catastrophe related to global warming would open most people's eyes. When was the last time this subject occupied the centre of conversations with your friends? I would bet for very few a far between. We do not know how to solve this problem on the short term basis and that fact makes us indifferent or uninterested. It's like the cancer plague... It has been with us for a very long time, a lot of people talk about it, seem to be involve with it, raise money for it but there is very little hope that we will find a cure in our or future lifetimes for it, unless more people get sick with it. It will take a overwhelming "Never seen before" response from ordinary people to eradicate it. We are not there yet!

I think the modernization of our economy and the need for new products have forced some countries like china to feed the exported goods. Eventhough it looks like china's economy is booming, but the other side of story is really devastating. Air pollution is the major issue on the aganda. By the time, we start to pay more attention to our envirronment, we have destroyed a great deal of our earth. May be the bad result of global warming make our legislatures think twice before expanding our oil refineries or investing in oil.

For a high school project, I think it looks quite professional. At first glance, I would not have thought high schoolers did it. :) I like that it's not overly "busy" -- you know, like with a bunch of loud colors and distracting graphics and immature doodads (i.e. NOTHING like MySpace! *chuckle*). Your blog is simple, clean and interesting, the navigation is good, and the information is timely and important. I also like the choices of photos/graphics.

Highlight your side links with buttons.

Make that picture of the greenhouse effect bigger.

Nice blog but everything should be slightly bigger.

ok, I just scanned it and it looks well thought out.

Good Luck!

PS You'd get more feedback on your page if you left email as optional so people wouldn't get the idea that you might be an email harvester.
