Today is November 29, the day George died in 2001. Also the day "Something" hit #1, his only song with The Beatles to do so.

So, let's pay our respects. I'll start.

"Here Comes the Sun" is a lovely song, George. We're glad you wrote it.

I was listening to flogging molly with my dad the other day, and felt that some of the stuff Flogging Molly was singing about were "Anti-God" or even "Satanic". I really don't want to believe it, but the words don't lie. Please try and give me facts that support my side, and maybe why some of the songs say what they do. I really need your help, or I can't go to their next show. Thanks

But there was never a formal/very obvious connection?

I have no idea why, but I always associated Blue Oyster Cult with Boston....

You?

Don't think too hard about it. Just free-from, top of mind answers. Remember, there is no correct list, just alphabetical...26 in all, one for each letter of the alphabet...

Can you think of any bands who've put out 2 (or sometimes even 3) amazing albums in a row?

Often, you'll get a band doing a GREAT debut & then the follow-up is a miserable failure by comparison. (eg: The Darkness)

Beatles: Rubber Soul/ Revolver/ Sgt. Pepper's.. (possibly rock's greatest 1,2,3 punch)

White Rabbit - Jefferson Airplane

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall

And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Recall Alice
When she was just small

When men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know

When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the doormouse said:
"FEED YOUR HEAD

I have posted a video on youtube.
There are five 10 second [approx] clips.

They are all COVER songs.

You need to name the song, the artist or band that is coverig the song and the artist or band that originally recorded it.

There is a 6th clip right at the end [a scream], it is not a cover song and you do not have to guess it.
But if you /do/ and you get it right - i actually love you.

Best of luck.

As someone who has spent many years in the music industry and knows a lot about music this is almost embarrassing, but I cannot figure out who does this! I heard it at a Starbucks, of all places, and they lost the box the CD came in, so no one was able to help me there. I want to know who does a new version of Starman. The entire CD was played at Starbucks and I would like the whole thing, I've had no luck even looking up Starbucks Here Music and the like. At another Starbucks the packaging for the disk did not include a track listing or a name for the band, just info on Bob Marley, which was also on the same disk. A David Bowie cover site hasn't been updated in a couple of years and the bands on the wikipedia page don't sound like the same band. No musician friends of mine know this either. Please help! It's driving me crazy!

Even though Garth Brooks/Chris Gaines didn't go over that well, I'd like to see Dierks Bentley give it a try. I think Cypress Hill could do a fantastic job as well.
