As someone who has spent many years in the music industry and knows a lot about music this is almost embarrassing, but I cannot figure out who does this! I heard it at a Starbucks, of all places, and they lost the box the CD came in, so no one was able to help me there. I want to know who does a new version of Starman. The entire CD was played at Starbucks and I would like the whole thing, I've had no luck even looking up Starbucks Here Music and the like. At another Starbucks the packaging for the disk did not include a track listing or a name for the band, just info on Bob Marley, which was also on the same disk. A David Bowie cover site hasn't been updated in a couple of years and the bands on the wikipedia page don't sound like the same band. No musician friends of mine know this either. Please help! It's driving me crazy!

It is not The Dykeenies, I think their stuff is only available as import, and Starbucks wouldn't play it if they don't also sell it. it could be The Mary Hart Band except nowhere am I able to hear it, or even find a website for them, much less purchase the CD from.

Seu Jorge covered it in Portugese for The Life Aquatic..... soundtrack although that's probably not what you're referring to.
