Back in the day, was there a word that people hated being called, or something along the lines of the dreaded 'E' word?

godsmack...- I was called preppy, jock and the 'E' word all in one day back in high school. It made me laugh though.

Poser and / or prep were the two classes that I never wanted to be placed in. That just wouldn't do.

Silver~: Doogie White has an amazing voice. He did some vocal work on a Gary Hughes concept album called Once and Future King based on the Authurian legend. That album was filled with some amazing talent, but sadly, no one from Night Ranger appeared. (Sorry guys, I had to get in one more to make it 25 for the day).

i remember in like middle school (which rly wasnt back in the day but more like 5 yrs) , it was horrible to be called "preppy"....no body wanted to be called it...even though being a prep is not on the same level as the "e" word, i guess, .....i remember it being pretty bad....also before emo..it was "gothic"...people would be "preppy" one day then the next theyd be "gothic".....then of course the other p word came into place "poser"...i guess it is just a vicious cycle.....

edit: jake: i have never been called anything...but i like ur strategy cause back in middle school people just got too worked up and defensive...it is kinda sad though since half of them are a different "label" now.....

Yeah I remember when nobody wanted to be called a goth in the 90s. Eh..they're just words after all.

Well, I hate being called a 'Hippy', just because I often have a Folk Rock Gypsy look, and listen to a lot of 60's music.

And I think I lot of music fans of the time didn't like being grouped together as 'Hippies'.

Edit :~

And if anyone had seen me this afternoon, singing along with Doogie White, I just might have been called a 'Rock Chick' ~ that's nearly as bad!

2nd Edit :~

jmike :~ Thanks for the tip ~ I'll have to have a listen.
I think if I play 'Too Late for Tears' once more, my neighbours just might start complaining!
{But it has to be loud to cover my singing!}

Goth... At least it was for me and some of my friends in high school. Anytime some idiot would call me goth, I was ready to throw down... Guess that's why I spent so much time in alternative school, lol.
