David Gilmore, to me is a great "soulful" blues guitarist. "Echoes" and "Comfortably Numb", the entire "Wish You Were Hear" cd, and "Animals" if full of blues. But Mr.Gilmore inspired me to pick up the guitar. He retains my honors.
Neil Young and Carlos Santana also. Please share some of your favorite "rock" blues players. or is it "Blues", Rock players?

I am a big country fan, but recently have been listening to some blues channels every now and then. I like that B.B King guy, and few others I've heard, but I'm still a novice when it comes to this genre of music. Are there any good suggestions on who I should listen to from classic blues to todays blues sounds. Looking for some singers and songs, and even albums I should look for to get a true blues experiance. Looking forward to your posts. Take care and may God Bless.

some of them are amazing guitarists, but IMO black people have a certain charisma and energy in the voice that is missing in most white people?

ps can you recommend some white artists anyway for me to check out? I might change my mind...

He doesn't even play chords on his guitar. Yes, I know....He has more feeling in one note than many do in 100.....but come on. He is far from a master of guitar.

Fabulous singer, but I don't know much about her background, other than she was 15 when she cut her first album. What kind of info do you have?

I think Elmore James and Jimmy Reed are overrated. They both wrote many classic songs but a lot of their songs sound the same. Jimmy Reed with that shuffle beat and Elmore James with a variation of that same old trademark guitar lick.

White Man Blues

I want to sing the blues so bad
It feels like a heart attack
Yea I got these mean old blues so bad
It feels like a heart attack
But, every word comes out sounding dorky
Why couldn't this boy been born black?

I try hard to get soul goin
But it ain't no use when I try
Yes I try hard to play and sing the blues
But it ain't no use for my to try
You see I am a cau-kay-shun fellow
It sounds like tony bennett, lord tell me why

On the sixth hour
Of the sixth day
Of the sixth month
The sixth policeman say
"You will never be a lover,
You will never play the blues
You will always be cau-kay-shun
You haven't got a clue"

I am a dorky white man
Oh lord I promise you I am
Yes I am a dorky white man
But I'm not the Son of Sam
So believe in what Im sayin to you
Cuz what I am is what I am
