Slim Harpo, some Gatemouth Brown, Tony Joe White (who's still kickin' strongly), lotta blues tunes by Clifton Chenier I heard live when he was healthy, though he sang many in French.

So, Baby Scratch My Back and tell me your favorites, please.

Not quite Allman, Garcia, Clapton or many other personas that played the blues in 70's.

Elvin was never rich or famous but seemed to capture the spirit, played and singed the rock blues.

I have a fender strat, and I was interested in getting that old blues sound. I have messed around with the tone, but I was wondering how to get it to sound like B.B. King. Im open to suggestions too. :) Thanks Andy

What's the best electric guitar to get on a $500 dollar budget?
I would prefer hollowbody or semi-hollowbody, but solid is fine. I would like P90s or similar, my secondary choice is humbuckers. Teles and Strats are acceptable. The music I'm covering is The Strokes, Interpol, Pixies, Ramones, Velvet Underground, Sonic Youth, Bloc Party, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Primus, etc. Need a clear, high high end, punchy mids, and crunchy lows. Any recommendations?

I don't know the technical stuff to it, but I know a lot of famous guitarists like Jimi Hendrix and David Gilmour have used fuzz boxes. I'm just wondering what they do exactly as far as sound.

A question similar to this has probably been asked before, but does anyone know any good blues (rock) guitarists similar to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Robby Krieger (L.A. Woman album)? I prefer stuff more in the 60's/70's range. Please don't mention Eric Clapton... However, anyone like B.B. King and Albert Kink is great too!

I'm just starting slide guitar and usually put the slide on my pinky finger, but sometimes when i'm playing the slide starts to slip off, because I have slim pinkys. Should I switch to my Ring Finger, or am I not keeping my pinky in the right position? Also could you give me your favorite Blues/Slide Guitar players. I like Robert Johnson and Eric Sardinas.

I've been playing guitar for about 10 years , and have tried a few times to learn blues, but every time I get into 12-bar blues and certain progressions/scales, it justs starts to sound exactly like type of parts guys in music stores play to impress people shopping for strings ... Mean while if I listen to Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Robert Johnson etc... It sounds completely different even though it's the same style, I've noticed blues is very good at telling the listener whether you are full of sh*t or not. I really want to work blues in my songs but not if it's obvious I'm forcing it, any hints?
