Slim Harpo, some Gatemouth Brown, Tony Joe White (who's still kickin' strongly), lotta blues tunes by Clifton Chenier I heard live when he was healthy, though he sang many in French.

So, Baby Scratch My Back and tell me your favorites, please.

Fogerty definitely uses a swampy style on many of his songs. Not just "Born On The Bayou", either. He was pretty smart to find it from the Bay area. And Lazy Lester, yeah!

Little Jimmy Reid is going back a ways, but I heard him do a small venue a few years ago, and he is Swamp Man. He had to be in his late seventies, and he blew the roof off. I actually like him on the harp better than Gatemouth. Queen Ida is all about Zydeco, but pulls off some nice swamp blues on a few releases.

Yes, I'm a huge fan of Slim Harpo's also. Another swampster that I like is Lazy Lester. Still performing and has influenced many with some classic hits like "I Hear You Knockin' "

Maybe I'm out of line, but I always thought John Fogerty had a pretty swampy blues sound.

Corrosion, I dunno why some folks don't know the different blues styles, but I guess you gotta listen to a LOT of blues to be able to tell ;)

Clifton Chenier! I gotta get more of that stuff ;)

Who doesn't like Slim Harpo?

Oh, and if Martin answers this one, give him the big ups on it - he certainly deserves it more :)
