I want to find an amp that is versatile in sound and effects. I found the line 6 amp on musiciansfriend.com and was wondering if this amp will suit my needs? I like to play alternative, grunge, blues, jazz, progressive and metal.

A young friend of mine has that identical "rig." He and I both agree that it's a "lot of bang for the buck."

He still aspires to purchasing a Marshall half-stack after having played several -but- $$ are his (and most everyone's) deciding issue.

Short answer........I think you'll be happy with the line 6 !!

Good Luck !!

Line 6 makes some great products. I purchased a Behringer X-V Amp 2 years ago, which I still like and use a lot, but if I would've bought the Line 6 model I would've come out better. They are easier to adjust and offer those "in between" tones that Behringer didn't have. I'm not knocking Behringer because they're so affordable, but you can do a bit more with Line 6 stuff.

Line 6 makes some good stuff, but I very strongly recommend that you "save your pennies" for the model that was designed by Mr. Bogner - I just heard one it was GREAT for the money. I own a bunch of different great amplifiers and although I don't usually care for digital modeling amps I really liked this one and wanted to try it out some more. The one I was looking at was a "combo" unit for around $850, and would be one amp I would consider using consistently on gigs. I have some "world class" amplifiers, but I am reluctant to take them into rowdy bars - this amp would be fairly easy to replace, and it has a sound quality I have never heard in a new amp of its price range.

I also have a Spider iV seventy 5 watt and mandatory to change the a million/4 plug. Disassembly grew to become into truly ordinary. you're able to desire to get rid of the screws on the precise of the unit. The spider had 6 black screws. you do no longer would desire to get rid of the line 6 plastic on the front of the grill even with the shown fact which you in all likelihood will choose to easily in case you stress the plastic and it breaks. next, unplug the speaker wires, white to the left, black to the splendid whilst observing it from the returned. next, on the front panel the place each and every of the knobs are, you will would desire to softly get a skinny screw driving force to pry between the precise wood panel and the electronics container. gently artwork your way down from on component to a distinctive. you will see a pair slots (spider had 5) which you will get the screw driving force in. as quickly as you have relieved the strain between the container with the electronics and the precise of the cabinet, the container could pull stunning out the returned devoid of lots attempt.
