Especially a drummer? Just checking. Also "variety". How about it - anybody on here fitting that description that wants to jam?

BTW: I'm a guitarist/vocalist, and I write SOME original material - hoping to record and submit some material to "Tune Core" soon.

For me it's Son House. I think his deepest stuff goes even further than Robert Johnson in terms of emotion and inner-torment. "My Black Mama" gives me chills. Otis Rush is a close second. "Double Trouble" and "My Love Will Never Die" both hit a level that only the greatest of bluesmen can reach. Why do you think Stevie Ray named his band after the former?

Some others: BB King, Robert Nighthawk, Lightnin' Hopkins

As a beginner I got a Suzuki Easy Rider (http://www.suzukimusic.com/harmonicas/ezr20/) for $3.8 (original price $4.49) from a real large music store last week. All the holes work great except the 2- draw note, which produces no/little sound no matter how hard I inhale. The largest problem is that I can only bend a draw note successfully on the 1-hole when I try holes 1-4. Bending blow notes on the higher end is almost impossible.

I once disassembled my harp and found that the 20 reeds were neither broken nor damaged. The tuning was perfect.

So... what can explain the poor performance of the harp? Would reeds undergo metal fatigue even if a harp had never been played? Do you think large harmonica manufacturers like Suzuki would produce low-quality instruments?

And if I'm to buy a new harmonica, which one should I choose - Marine Band or XB-40?

Please help, thanks.

So the question we are faced with, whether or not white people should have the right to be singing the blues, is the proprietary argument valid?

With what the experiential access argument shows that, “In effect that one cannot understand the blues or authentically express oneself in blues unless one knows what it’s like to live as a black person in America, and one cannot know this without being one.”

My wife just realized she LOVES the blues!! I'm looking for as many songs as you can suggest so I can get them for her. She really likes songs along the lines of "Jesus just left Chicago" by ZZ Top, "Pride and Joy" by Stevie Ray Vaughn. She is not impressed by the "older" stuff like Robert Johnson (cut her some slack, she's from Thailand) but more along the newer stuff with better sound quality. She loves the sad, moaning type vocals, and the "crying" guitar sound. Ok, give em' to me, I know there has to be some serious blues listeners on here somewhere?

Who would you consider at the top of that list? My personal top three would have to be
1. Memphis Slim
2. Muddy Waters
3. Albert King

I was watching E! News and briefly caught a blues performer with black curly hair performing a blues song (no lyrics) on a guitar. I have tried the internet but can't seem to find it. Was it just a dream?

O.K. so I'm 21 and have been playin guitar for 8 years or so. A couple years ago, I began to increase my awareness of the Blues, and the impact it had on music itself, especially the music I usually listen to. So, my friends and I were mainly into metal/hard rock, and I started listening to the "old" stuff, they thought I was losing it. And a couple of em' said, "man, why are you listening to so much blues, and old rock? It just reminds me of an old black guy sittin in a rockin chair."
And I didnt really answer them at the time, cuz I knew they wouldnt understand. But I've been thinking allot about that lately, and here is what I wish I would have told them...
"What about Zeppelin or Sabbath, werent they originally blues bands? What about Clapton? Van Halen? Hendrix? I mean even Dime-bag Darrell? If it wasnt for the blues we would have nothing we love today. So if I'm square because I listen to Mudd Waters, or B.B. or Buddy Guy, so be it, Blues forever.

just bought my first electric guitar and came with a 15w cheap amp. amp has only blues type distortion and i want hard rock or metal type distortion. there are two holes on amp; input and phone.

will a distortion pedal give what i want? how does it work? will it be able to plug into the "phone" hole in the amp? should i just save for another amp?

am on a low budget and dont want anything fancy. just the metal sound.
