And any other Blues band opening for them of your choice, living or dead...

I would pick for my opener...Roy Buchahan...Then I have to pick Buddy Guy..I have seen him live many times..as well as B.B. King who I also love. But I must pick Buddy..he is without a doubt one of the greatest live performers I have ever seen!!!
Wow what a show that would be..I never got a chance to see Roy..he died so young..in a very mysterious way...I guess no one will ever know what really happened to him..in that jail cell. He was one of the best guitarist who deserved way more recognition than he received.
Great Q! Thanks!
Ciao

OF these two choices, definitely Buddy Guy! BB King is good but hes become very commercial.
For an opening blues band I'd pick a band with Mike Bloomfield on guitar, maybe the Paul Butterfield Blues Band or maybe when he backed up Muddy Waters (with Paul Butterfield) for Waters - Fathers & Sons album. Unfortunately Bloomfield died a long time ago so this could never happen.

I would rather see Buddy Guy. But I have to ask why BB or Buddy. Not much on choices are ya. Robert Johnson, T Bone Walker, Robert Cray or the great white hope Stevie Ray Vaughn. There are alot of great players out there. As far as opening acts, maybe Jimi Hendrix or Jimmie Lee Vaughn.

I've seen both BB King and Buddy Guy on numerous occasions. Without question, BB King puts on the better show. On another note, I've seen many blues artists such as: SRV, Clapton, Hubert Sumlin, Johnnie Johnson, John Mayall, Johnny Winters, Chris Cain, Jimmy Rogers, Carey Bell...etc. I'd have to say the best show I've ever experienced was Jimmy Rogers and his band. They were so good, it goes beyond description. That show was head and shoulders above all other concerts....period.

I already saw BB King and Buddy Guy play together(with Santana headlining). Great show. I'd see BB again first, with Charlie Patton opening! He was the greatest pre-war blues showman of them all.

Oh man that is so hard to answer. They're both so awesome. I've never seen either, but I guess I would have to go with...I guess Buddy Guy, but now I'm pissed because I didn't choose BB. Too hard.

Hendrix, definitely Hendrix to open no question about it. Although I feel like he should be the main act.

Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Buddy Guy, BB King. With a dream lineup like that who needs an opening act! :-)

Well, I'd have to go Buddy Guy because I've seen BB before. To open we'd have to go with Robert Johnson.
