I am a blues junkie, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any "little known" musicians I may not have heard. I appriciate any suggestions, and if wanted the favor can and will be returned!!

I'm in love with Precious Bryant at the moment.
but usually I'm more of a Big Bill Broonzy kind of girl.
Check this guy's blog out- he keeps coming up with good stuff:

little known is relative. Rather than list a lot of early blues players you may already be familiar with, I'll mention a couple that are currently (or in one case, recently) active.

Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers
James Harman Band
Tom Ball & Kenny Sultan
Gary Primich (died several months ago)

Sylvester Weaver
Lonnie Johnson (okay, folks know him, but he's WAY underrated)
Harvey Hull
Sloppy Henry
Sweet Peas Spivey
Champion Jack Dupree
Albinia Jones

lol - oh, and since I'm not so very known (or so very talented) I will toss in a shameless plug ;)

I just tune in to "Absolute Blues HIts" on Apple iTunes.

And me - you've never heard of me. I play blues-rock guitar. I think I will be a little better known next year.

The best obscure and current blues artist that I know is a harmonica player by the name of Jason Ricci. To me, he is the Hendrix of the mouth harp. I've seen him live three times in a few small bars in Knoxville and in Springfield, Ohio. (Amazing live). Check out his website!
