For me, it's ALL about Muddy Waters. From his
Complete Plantation Recordings on through...
If nothing else though, drop what you're doing and
go out and get two things.
1> Robert Johnson's Complete Recordings (2-disc set)
2> Sessions for Robert J. (dvd/cd 2-disc) by
Eric Clapton with Doyle Bramhall II (guitar) and
featuring special guest, the late Billy Preston on keyboard
After about a week of being wowed by this
elemental one-two punch of pure blues,
you'll be ready to take on everything else.

Blues-rock is my favorite blues music.
Check out " 1.FM Blues " on the Apple iTunes internet "radio" - its what I usually listen to. Then you will hear some of the artists that I like. They are ALL pretty good, or they wouldn't have made it onto that station. I'm hoping my music will be on there someday - I'm a blues-rock guitarist.

Well I have loved blues for year and also play it regularly when I can. The best guys out there today are Mem Shannon and John Lee Hooker Jr (yes it's his son). Especially Mem, need to check him out next time he gets close to your town to play, he is amazing. Check out his stuff on youtube.
Favorite album of all time among the 1000 I have is Buddy Guy's "Stone Crazy", in the late 70's Buddy really tore up the scene (check him out doing Stormy Monday on youtube also, that was the time when Buddy was at his peak and there is nothing even close to that at all that has ever been recorded.) Mem Shannon is the guy to see, he is getting better every year and the hottest blues player out there today.
