I'm teaching my kids about foreign countries, and I think that having examples of how we are different brings it home that not everyone is american or speaks english. So anyone interested message me or leave me an e-mail.

Ok here it goes. I have a B. Sc and post graduate degree in business administration-marketing. My current work as a marketing executive doesn't pay much. (I live in Cyprus-European island)
I'm given the opportunity to work as a truck driver, get more money and pay my way through Phd and become a professor which is my final goal.
Shoulsd i become a truck driver? I can handle the job but people say. Truck driver are u insane'. What do u think?

in school? What did that teacher do to inspire you? How did they help and encourage you to learn, that was different from any other teacher?

I really am having a hard time getting a job. I've only done summer camp in my field. On the bright side, I'm sort of okay that I am not working because my daughter still has two more years at home before she starts school. I'm concerned that now I'll really never get hired if I finish my MAT this year because who would want to pay more for an 'unexperienced' teacher?

Any ideas on first day activities on a 90 min. block schedule? I already thought of introducing myself, the student introductions, rules, etc. but 90 mins. seems so long i think i need an icebreaker activity to take up some more time. any ideas??

Teachers, thinking back over your teaching career, which state or federally implemented programs were stupid wastes of time, and which really seemed to do some good? Please let me know what state you're from, too. Thanks. (If you think all of them were bad, which seems to be a common answer, please specifically name one of the worst.)

(I am asking this again because I would love to hear from more teachers about this. If you already answered my previous question, thanks.)

Why is it English majors or people with perfect english grammar are full of themselves, and think that i shouldn't teach english to foreigners? I know i have bad grammar, and i have an accent(i'm hispanic american) but i have good teaching techniques, i make it fun, and in fact i've taught several japanese and chinese people and they are really happy that i help them. i also speak japanese so i can explain concepts to some of them. Whats wrong with teaching even if i'm not perfect...Some people in yahoo answers think that to teach i should have perfect american accent, have perfect grammar, and be talkativve outgoing like many new yorkers i see in tv. but i feel i can teach even if i m not like that

I would like to find teaching materials like vocabulary and verbs and and other areas to teach online that I can print out to use as handouts.....preferably in Spanish with English translation and pronounciation. I do speak Spanish myself, however, not perfectly, but, enough to be able to communicate with my students. My class will be in a home with only a chalkboard and whatever handouts I can provide. Therefore, I need to make copies of any written material I can find online.....common vocabulary, colors, days of the week, months, courtesies, etc. I have books that I used to teach myself Spanish and plan to utilize them, but, here in Mexico, it is hard to find anything for teaching English as everything is in Spanish. I do not have money to invest in materials or teaching books or programs. Does anyone know of a good website that I can find what I need to start? Thank you for your interest and response.
