Probably it's my 40 years of experience as a teacher and parent, but giving homework to kindergartners seems a bit much!! It's not at all impressive, and it takes away further from allowing our children to be just that---children. We take enough of their childhood away with organized everything like Little League sports of all kinds. Now we give homework to kindergartners??? I don't think so!! That is a time and place to hone social skills, not academics. I guess the philosophy has switched from nurturing children to making them educational robots. What a shame!!

Chow!!

You can make a smashing chart in MS Excel. Email me and I will email you one in return, if you like. I use it for all the grades: homework, tests, projects. I also track tardies and absences on the same sheet.

You should create it yourself on the computer. Use word processing or desktop publishing program and it will then be your own to use again and again.
