**Please be careful when automatically assuming the reason for failure was they did not work hard enough. Perhaps a child has a learning disability that has not been identified, or they are having problems at home. I've had some hard working students that have completely bombed tests. Just a little heads up.**

Are you sending like a progress report? that's what I do. I send a note that has all their grades so the parents can see they are missing assignments or whatever- then the grade speaks for itself. Otherwise I'd go with the "sandwich approach" a couple answers above.

I would form it more along the lines of individual feedback on whatever assessment method they had failed at - using the traditional postitive sandwich of;
good thingto start with-specific problem areas to be improved-good thing to finish on
Seeing things in black and white can really formalise a problem so ideally you would want the student to be able to discuss their feelings about the failure and how they could improve. The note can be a useful reference point afterwards, to reduce anxiety!

failure is a bridge to success.
I mean, till you ahven't experienced any failure in your life i dont know in any aspect, you would not taste how sweat is success.
it doesnt mean that always fail in your burdons.
we are created to do our best to live in best.

be repeating your task on your note pad.

be good enough to ask your friends, how they tackle such a situation.

don't compare yourself with others.

be a good time manager...
