Just recently, a racial hate crime was carried out in my high school and a series of fights took place afterwards, and are still continuing to this day. My teachers and several students are attempting to start a new program based on conflict/resolution. Do you have any ideas on how we can implement this into our classrooms?

Note: We want to start this program in Humanitas, already existing SLC (Small Learning Community) LA, CA

I am always told how hard teachers work, but knowing they get 12 weeks paid holiday a year, do all of them actually work during this time? Or do yo think the 3 months holiday a year is what attracts most people to the job??

calling all s'porean teachers!
i have been thinking about joining the teaching force since i was in secondary school. i have always enjoyed teaching/tutoring my friends as i grew up and i love the moment when the finally understand something and think to themselves, 'wow. thats kinda interesting'.
but what i'd like to know is what kind of salary does a teacher get how much does a secondary/jc teacher get? how does pay increment work?
also i want to know from a teacher's point of view if it is all worth it at the end of day? do you enjoy what youre doing and is it everything you though it would be.
i welcome honest answers. be as truthful as you can, dont water it down!
