PSATs dates are very strict. They only test during one week per year. It used to be that schools had a choice of Wednesday or Saturday of a given week. No alternate times were allowed. I would assume that is still the case -- which means, that if your school has opted for the Saturday date, you may want to go to collegeboards.com to see if there is a school nearby that has opted for the Wednesday, or vice versa.

Unfortunately, if you are unavailable that whole week, you are out of luck.

The PSAT has minimal value though: If are consider yourself on of the top 3000 students in the entire nation, you would have a chance at the National Merit Scholarship. But short of a near perfect score, the PSAT is just a prep tool for the SAT (which is much more critical). And there are pleny of alternative resources available for SAT prep.

If they have a retake day, retake it or wait until the next year or stay home.
