calling all s'porean teachers!
i have been thinking about joining the teaching force since i was in secondary school. i have always enjoyed teaching/tutoring my friends as i grew up and i love the moment when the finally understand something and think to themselves, 'wow. thats kinda interesting'.
but what i'd like to know is what kind of salary does a teacher get how much does a secondary/jc teacher get? how does pay increment work?
also i want to know from a teacher's point of view if it is all worth it at the end of day? do you enjoy what youre doing and is it everything you though it would be.
i welcome honest answers. be as truthful as you can, dont water it down!

thanks guys.

i have checked the MOE webbie and have referred to the salary chart given. i just want to know how salary increment works because it is not reflected on the webbie.

and i know that it is not about the cash. i have a passion for teaching that i assure you. i just think that being financially stable is one of the things that one has to plan for for the future and i'd like to know what i may have to deal with.

There's a website with forums for people working over in Asia, maybe one of them can answer your question.

You should check with the Ministry of Education for salaries given to teachers. Teaching do not give teachers the best/highest salary for what you contributed.

It is the satisfaction of achievement that counts. If you measure "worth" in terms of money, do not join the teaching profession.
