I'm a middle school teacher and switched rooms over the summer. My new room has a crappy white board! I use one all the time...I teach reading and writing. Help! What has worked for you?

Hand sanitizer! It works great and is easy and cheap too. Also dryer sheets work. Plus they make your room smell great.

Some markers are more eraseable than others, so try different brands to see which one's best. Also, the longer you leave the marker on the board, the harder it'll be to erase, so try not to leave writing on overnight or anything. But even with these ideas, a plain eraser still probably won't erase completely well. They sell board cleaners that you spray on the board like windex in staples... those help A LOT. They're kind of annoying to use every time you have to erase, but at least you could use them during free periods and before you leave for the day to clean the board once in a while. Hope I helped, and good luck adjusting to your board. :)

I love using clorox wipes (the kind that you pop out of the round container). I like them because they clean the white board really well, they kill germs (always a problem in the classroom), they smell great, and I can use them on other surfaces to keep things sanitized.

It took a while for me to find something that was convenient that really worked. Good luck with the new room.

yep, the spray stuff works. get a really clean rag and work on a small area at a time until you get the whole thing clean. then make sure you always use a clean eraser or rag to erase so you don't just smudge marker around.

Hi! It is very well to use alcohol to erase it completely and, if it doesn't work, you should paint the whole board with a market and erase it.

I always use ammonia, followed with Windex to remove the residue from the ammonia.

Always use dry erase markers.
