I am putting together a library, a collection of books that I would want my children to read... classics that would help them learn, and dream and aspire to be better than their father. I'm a fairly religious man, so I would want the books to be uplifting and void of any filth or suggestive scenes and books that avoid vulgarities. Some of the books I have already added are "A Tale of Two Cities," "The Once And Future King" "A Wizard of Earthsea" "A Horse and His Boy" "Early Man and the Ocean" "Where the Red Fern Grows" and "The Alchemist"

I'm doing one-on-one conversations with 28-35 year olds, half an hour each, to improve their English. Need help because sometimes there's nothing to talk about!

If you don't know that site, it has past term papers on file and teachers compare their current ones to ones in that database to check for plagaism.

I left banking and entered teaching when I was 19..I love teaching as it is my vocation. In 2003 I was inspired to create a program. The student population I have been teadhing for a generation still have me wondering why Johnny (and Susie) cannot read. The answer includes many factors like reaching the student at risk, discipline, challenging their thinking/problem solving ability etc I have met many well meaning or inquisitive individuals who want to know when I will retire. Some think of me as"Grandma' because I taught one or both of their parents, aunts/uncles, cousins etc.I am 5+ years away from pension, fit,an orphan, have grown kids and want to contribute to the mental well-being of my nation through education. Most of all, I want to work the program a little longer to get rid of glitches.Students have come to me and remarked that they have improved their performance.Does a teacher have to quit because of age? I think about wine, cheese and other products that get better with age.

In school, we didn't learn alot of history, but memorized the facts (dates, names, etc.). We, as parents, tell kids to learn from their mistakes. How do we know what mistakes we might be repeating? I want to learn, and teach my kids, more about WHY things are, what lead to today, why major events in history occurred. Any suggestions? Reading, movies, etc.

Thanks!!
